Owner description: The Polynesian Cultural Center, voted the #1 attraction in Hawaii by USA Today, is located along the famous North Shore of Oahu. Explore 42 acres of tropical splendor featuring 6 authentic villages representing the island cultures of Hawaii, Fiji, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga. Mingle with Pacific islanders as they share the majesty of their culture through music, dance and traditional hands-on activities. Our most popular dining option is the award-winning Ali’i Luau. This royal feast blends a delicious array of island and mainland dishes with the excitement of authentic island entertainment from across Polynesia. Finish your adventure though the power of “Ha: Breath of Life,” an action-packed evening show. Ignited by fire, song and dance featuring over 100 Polynesian performers, this story of passion will make this day a truly unforgettable experience. The Polynesian Cultural Center: all of Polynesia in one exciting place.

The experience of the Polynesian Cultural Center was truly spectacular! We were a family of 7 including 2 hard to please grand children, ages 12 an 14, but even they thoroughly enjoyed the day even though it lasted until 9:00 pm, but the best part was the trip from our hotel to the park, made possible by the driver "Cousin" Donovan showing us Hawaii. He was not only informative, but comedic also. He made the day!!

Had a great time touring the center. Very interesting and educational but to experience the full experiences available at each village you really need two days. We did the ambassador package and had an excellent tour guide, the meal was ok, but the evening show was great. The major complaint I have is the tour of Brigham Young "Campus" where you were suppose to get info on how and why Brigham Young got involved in the islands etc. rather what you get is an indoctrination into the Morman Church! After viewing the video your encouraged to view the displays as the "sisters" ascend on you to discuss their views.

Visits to this center are all day events. We boarded a tour bus at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at 10:00 AM. We arrived there at lunch time and dined there for a BBQ buffet which was very good. They give you 30 mins for that and then group up with your tour guide for a tour of 7 different islands, where you are treated to shows and demonstrations of cultural traditions. We had a great tour guide who took us around and got us to events early enough to get shaded seats and managed time very well through dinner time. At dinner time, we attneded a Luau which was well done. After dinner there is a movie (with special effects) that show the birth of the islands and natural beauty that has been well preserved. Then it's on to the evening live show which is basically the cycle of life of a royal family. It was well done and well worth the admission price. We departed the center at around 9:30 PM and we were back at the Hilton by about 10:30 or 10:45 PM. I recommend this to anyone who visits and is interested in seeing and experiencing true Polynesian culture.

The Hawaiian Islands have a most unusual history and one of the best attractions to attend to get not just the whole story but the story is told in a most memorable way. Also, every visit to the Hawaiian Islands must include a luau and the Center has one of the best of any on the Islands. When you sit down to dinner, there's always an interesting cross section of travelers with whom you can exchange ideas on what are some of the other places to visit on the Islands.
