This was fun and a place to make new friends. You sit at long picnic like tables with other people. They do the pig raising ceremony before dinner. Teh food was good typical luau food. Poi is gross but you gotta taste it anyway. Not much in the way of desserts. The show is excellent and they even have some audience participation where you can go up and dance the hula. It was a hoot! You get three drinks. If buy the big glasses as a souvenir and then they fill them with your drink tickets. Good Mai ti Big glasses get you the best deal :)

wow, this is actually surreal to be at.
im from New Zealand and was there with two Sydney girls. were aged 25-28. what a waste of money.
it was SOOOOOO American there i realized why the world hates em. for what they charged us and what we got i really felt conned.
if your American and into all that fake dumb American [--], yeah you'll love it.
we just had to get drunk to bear it.
the food was pretty crap.
being from a pacific nation, i was interested to see their take on "a tour of the pacific through song and dance"
dude the Maori performance was in accurate, i felt quite offended. in saying that the performers were talented.
if it wasn't located out of Waikiki we would have left.

i love Hawaii, but the REAL side to it, this just super fake and touristy.

My fiance's dad booked this luau for our group of 15, we had front row seating and free drink tickets. Told our tour bus attendant that my fiancee is allergic to pineapple (haha we know) and stayed away from what we were told to, then the bartenders served him a Blue Hawaii instead of the drink he ordered (Windex - vodka, blue curacao, sierra mist). Spent the rest of the night watching him break out in hives and was sent to the emergency room because their first aid station is only qualified to apply band-aids. Thankfully he took the benedryl that we brought with us. Later in the week we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and had much better treatment and attention over his allergies. Wouldn't be able to say about the show since we missed it.

Bought ticket from street booth-exceptional, they conned us. We are from New Zealand and know what a good Polynesian show is all about. However, a luau is one of the things your supposed to do when in Hawaii so we did. The dancers were good but it wasn't a great show. We have seen school performances from teenagers in N.Z. better than what we saw last night. We were told to be at the Hilton at 4.10. for a 4.20 departure and a 30 minute ride! Bus left at 4.50 and arrived at 6.15 (traffic a nightmare and this was a Tuesday night and wouldn't be any different any other day of the week.). We're told all seats are the same, that's not true. The best seats in house were reserved seatings. Were on one of the last buses to arrive and we were on the sides, where the sound was terrible. Food ok and what we expected. More fish and fruit would have been better. The show started at 8.35 and went on for one hour. Between 6.15-8.35 we listened to a very American-ised watered down, white washed, vanilla flavoured show. Maybe we are a bit jaundiced but we didnt come to hear about little joeys birthday, someones anniversary, someones honeymoon, and on and on. The male host going on about the mens hula as if we were super privileged to see something no-one else would ever see- yeah right! The tour guide Alika was excellent, nice person who made the 45 minute trip back enjoyable. Overpriced, not authentic, not recommended by us. Our group of 5 adults and 4 teenagers from 12 upwards were underwhelmed. We can see positive reviews but we really struggled with this one. Visit a cirque du soliel show in Vegas. The comparison on value for money makes you want to cry.

We did Germaine's Luau on June 28. The setting was beautiful, and he escort on the bus from our hotel was great; unfortunately the bus trip might have been the best part.

Although we arrived early, the best areas to see the show had "reserved" signs on them. We took a table near the bar.

The food was fair. Everyone got full, but the quality was not very good. The food we barbecued at home for the 4th of July was way better. For the price, it was the worst dinner we had in Hawaii.

The show was good, but it could have been a lot better. They spent way too much time on "audience participation". We wanted to see professional Hawaiians--not somebody from LA!
The people who put on the show have probably had their day, but they reminded us of Lawrence Welk.

We also could not see a lot of the show, because people were standing up and blocking our way.
This should have been monitored by Germaine.

The professional part of the show was excellent. The entertainers were great, and the people were really nice. I would do a luau. It was worth seeing, but it could have been SO much better!
