“Very good, very pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

We came for the happy hour specials and ordered beers for 4, we ended up with 8 total and a total of four appetizers and a pulled pork sandwich which came to over $100. I was a little shocked by the bill but the food was very, very tasty.

We had great craft beers, I ordered the chicken wings which were amazing. Hubby had the shrimp appetizer, it was a gumbo type deal. The shrimp was really good but the portion was tiny. Our friends ordered the fries and the sandwich which they said was great.

Tip: Sit upstairs then you don't have to deal with the flies!

“Would not return...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

We heard great things about Monkeypod. My husband and I found it overpriced with slow service and very loud. My adult children (in their twenties) liked it better than we did. My husband got the fish sandwich and it was very small. He left hungry. I had the cheeseburger which was just ok. Fries were 2 dollars extra! We asked to see the dessert menu and got it 15 minutes later and then gave the dessert order 15 minutes after that. I was getting quite annoyed at this point and just wanted to leave. The place was packed so maybe we were just there at the wrong time.

“Great happy hour food but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

Made reservations for 3pm and prayed for available parking. Good creative menu. Nice discounts during happy hour. Asked for inside table thinking it would be cooler and boy were we wrong. It was stifling hot and stuffy we had to depart promptly after we finished our truffle fries & squash pizza.

“Excellent Experience, Supports Local Farmers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

I appreciated how all food items supported produce from local farmers. We enjoyed our experience very much. The waiter was attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. You could choose to sit indoor or outdoor (live band was playing). The dessert ice cream included a generous serving of 3 scoops. We would definitely come back again.
