“Monkey pod, a beautiful tree, an excellent dinner experience”
Reviewed January 9, 2014 via mobile

We made a last minute reservation and were fortunate to be seated at the edge of the patio near the band riser. A note to myself for the future: if you want to enjoy the food, skip the tropical cocktails. They don't pair with fine food. We split a kale salad which was a pleasant surprise. It was tender, nicely dressed and garnished with supremed orange wedges and chopped macadamia nuts. We had a pulled pork sandwich with hand-cut fries and the pork saimin, a noodle and broth dish with basil and mint. Both were excellent, especially the saimin. The jazz-blues duo that played were exceptional, very tight and not too loud. We had a great time. The service was very good and the prices were about what you would expect in a resort area.

“Best Ko Olina Meal”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Monkeypod has great food, cocktails, and ambience. Less stuffy than Roys. The menu ranges from excellent entrees ($34 fish) to burgers and lighter fare. Beer is good. Cocktails (love the bourbon and ginger-based Makawao Ave) are terrific. You will go again and again because it is the best place on the resort, and the food is ono.

“Great Dining in Ko Olina”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

I visited this restaurant with a family group. It is a stylish and laid back restaurant with a nice happy hour bar scene. They have great happy hour specials. They have a great selection of beers on draft and cocktails. The staff is very friendly and provide excellent service. The menu selection is broad and has something for everyone. All of the dishes were excellent. We enjoyed a great meal with family with great service. As a bonus there was great live music on the patio. I definitely recommend it if you are in the Ko Olina area or if you just want to go to the area for a nice meal.

“Fusion of Flavors”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

From comfort food to exotic dishes - our party of 6 had it all and each meal (yes, I tasted each one) was delicious. The prices vary as well, but nothing out of the ordinary for a good meal. We went the weekend before Christmas and the restaurant was packed yet the service was friendly, fast and efficient. What I like best (as a local) is that it is out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist town of Waikiki. The ambience, however, is truly that of a resort area - close to the Aulani and Ihilani hotels and a good mix of locals and visitors alike.

“Dinner for 17”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Spent New Years in Ko Olina and had several visits to Monkeypod Kitchen. The restaurant is beautiful and hip. The staff friendly. The food did not disappoint. The last night we had dinner for 17 people, which is no easy task.
