“Fantastic resort, great service, fun activities for families!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

Our family of six (2 adults, 4 children: 16, 14, 12, 10) stayed Aug. 16-23 and we used Marriott reward points. We only had to pay a daily $30.00 parking fee, and $20 a day for a roll-a-way bed, plus food charges to the room.

Each day there is a list of activities such as pilates/yoga/Zumba/walking, hula lessons, ukulele lessons, lei making classes, etc.

On Tuesday night we briefly watched from the sidelines the beautiful event of Hawaiian dancers (attending guests need to pay for the luau dinner and event). On Wednesday night was Ko'Olina Has Talent and the resort encourages anyone to participate for fun. Our daughter presented her art drawings as her talent, and it was really fun to watch kids sing, dance, do gymnastics, hula hoop tricks, and more.

We highly recommend Keoni, who works in the Activities Dept., because we loved his humor, his bright smile, and his fun nature. He would say, "If you had a fun time with this activity, my name is Keoni. If you didn't like it, that's not my name." Very humorous, indeed!

On Fridays, Kariel the Mermaid comes to play with kids in the pool and she tells wonderful mermaid stories!

The resort itself is so clean and beautiful! Each morning we watched as the maintenance crew raked the sand at the Lagoon pool, cleaned and shined the barbeque grills, mowed the lawns, trimmed trees, cleaned sidewalks, and many things that are done to beautify this property.

All of the resort employees are cheerful, friendly, and welcoming! Curtis in the Welcome Center was a wealth of information and had wonderful recommendations for local sites. He highly advised to leave by 6am to visit Pearl Harbor, otherwise we may not get a ticket to the USS Arizona Memorial. Thank goodness we followed his advice and arrived in time for an 8am visit to the memorial (traffic in the morning was slow).

Our room was on the 6th floor of Hale Mauna and was very quiet. We never heard neighbors, and rarely anyone in the hallways. The room was a 1 bedroom villa with a full kitchen and washer and dryer (the w/d saved us with our large family dirty clothes!). We requested two roll-a-way beds for our two oldest kids, and there was still plenty of room to move around. We went to Costco (within 5 miles) and Whole Foods (downtown Honolulu) to buy enough groceries to last us for a week, which saved us SO MUCH MONEY compared to eating out. By the way, Costco has seasoned pork ribs that are fabulous on the grill!

Thank you for this lovely property, hard-working employees, top-notch customer care, and authentic Hawaiian spirit!

What an awesome place! The employees, the privacy, the scenery, the fitness classes, the pools, the different activities for kids & adults, they were all top notch! WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! This place aims to be the best and I think they start with an exquisite facility and superb employees who work hard to provide excellent service! From Melvin, the ukulele instructor, to Dutro who worked at the towel hut, to another Melvin with guest services, to the young lady who took us on the walk to learn about the flowers and trees on property, all SO PROFESSIONAL. We highly recommend Ko Olina Beach Club!!!

Room Tip: We had a small room but it did not matter. We spent most of our time outside.

Thank you Marriott for the wonderful upgrade, years of being a rewards member paid off ! Our room was amazing, possibly the largest and most lux accommodations we have ever experienced, beautiful decor and every amenity from yoga on the lawn facing the ocean to tours of the shark pond in the lobby. Many of these extras have fees attached , as does the daily parking, which keeps this from being a totally perfect resort experience. The view of the cove shared with the Disney resort was terrific and the swimming and water activities were fabulous. There is a lovely walking path along the water and you can also walk to a small shopping area with a few restaurants. This was a great property to use as a base while we were in Oahu, away from the Honolulu chaos and traffic.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views and less noise from beachfront activities !

We are owners here and have come since '07. Usually a hassle getting what you asked for room-wise but over the years Marriott usually tries to get it right in the end. New Manager here (Bill) is excellent. They've tightened the security so there's not as many freeloaders and chair-savers on property. Unfortunately they dropped one of their best features in Fia Fia (a show/luau) and poolside service seems no longer to be in effect. Great for young kids, teenagers might get a little bored but it's Hawaii. Overall this place is hanging in there pretty well. Still love it for the most part.

I am really sad to write that the restaurants here are horrible, but I will rate them each separately under the restaurant category. Suffice it to say, if you are going to stay here, be prepared for crappy food. The resort itself is nice, but for my husband and me, there were too many families for us to really enjoy any peace and quiet, especially by the pools. We have been Marriott timeshare owners for ten years or more, and this is the first time we have been disappointed in general. We will not come back here. Also, in Ko'olina, you are really trapped by super high prices and few options for meals unless you drive a good way.

We went there recently for a family reunion. We've been there before. It's a very nice resort, great foe families, especially with younger kids. The bay in front of the resort is very great for swimming. It's about 40 min from Waikiki. The area is quiter, less crowded. The Disney resort is close by, and is good to visit. We prefer the Marriott to the Disney resort. The area has a few restaurants close by, but can use a few more. If you prefer a quieter, less hectic, more private Hawaii experience, this is a great place. We really enjoyed ourselves. A car rental is useful to get around, unless you don't plan to leave the local area. There also a very good water park near by.

Actually stayed there in July 2013, sorry forgot to do a review. This property is gorgeous! The rooms are amazing! Staff is amazing! The view is out of this world! Everything was so beautifully handled for our reservation. This was truly a dream come true for our family vacation! The beds are so comfortable, feather pillows (yeah - in heaven). Back pain sufferer and had no complaints! Pools are immaculate! Beach is amazing! Wow is all I could say! We will definitely be back for many more vacations!
