“Always fun for the whole family”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

We took our kids here for their birthdays because they wanted to come here instead of having a birthday party. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, which had a kitchen, dining room table, living room and a bedroom. The kids loved sleeping on the pull out bed. My son said it was a little uncomfortable but didn't have trouble sleeping through the night.
The different pools are always nice but we stayed by the main pool with the waterfall and slide. I thought the poolside food and beverage was a fair price for a hotel. For dinner we bought food from Costco to grill. My husband loves to grill so that was a plus for him. And it's always fun to talk to the tourist while BBQ'ing. Also checking out other peoples food is always fun for me :)
Anyway, we come here at least once a year and we all have fun. There's always an activity going on and the pool keeps the kids very busy and tired them out.

Our stay was incredible from start to finish. When we told the front desk staff that we were arriving to celebrate our anniversary, he immediately upgraded us to an ocean view room. We stayed in a villa, which is an excellent choice. It has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room and separate bedroom. The balcony was great. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Be sure to sign up for the talk on Marriott's Vacation Club. It was interesting and we also received $150 in vouchers. We are returning there again this year. Please note that vacation club owners get the best rooms on the higher floors.

Room Tip: The rooms offer either a mountain or beach view. Both are quiet and restful.

OK so here is the bottom line. We have stated here several times as Marriott vacation club members and once again had a wonderful week. Our extended family group of 5 were very comfortable in a two bedroom ocean front villa. There are 3 pools: large family pool with different levels, water falls, water slide and hot tubs; a quiet pool; and a pool targeted toward younger families including a zero depth sandy bottom area. All pools are well maintained and ready for all day enjoyment. Good amount of pool side seating and umbrellas although you can always have more umbrellas. Pool side beverage and snack service is pretty good around the large family pool. There are several activities scheduled during the week for adults and kids. The lagoon offers a nice alternative to the pools with a good amount of beach chairs. Cabanas are available to rent but the price inhibits taking much advantage of them. The lagoon is protected from waves so it is great for supervised kids play in the sand or in the water. The lagoon is also a great place to have the kids snorkel however there are not many fish to see unless you get out near the rocks. Bar drinks are a bit pricy so consider bringing your own drinks down from the room (use plastic glasses or mugs). We did not eat at Longboards or at Chuck's on property restaurants this time. The food and service is just OK. You really don't want to cook while on vacation but the villas have full kitchens and there are several grills available for use on property. So, stock up on groceries in near by Kapolei, take advantage of the gas grills and do some simple meals. Consider one lunch at Longboards, one dinner at Chuck's and/or venture out to a nearby location for one meal. (Reference my other reviews of Roy's, AMA AMA and Oleo at Disney's Aulani, and Monkeypod - all of which are just a few mins away by car or several mins walk.) there is also a very good Sunday brunch at the near by JW Marriott. A daily morning walk along the lagoons is a great start to your day for a bit of exercise and fresh air. The resort offers a weekly luau (extra cost of course). We did not do it this stay but in the past it has been a good dinner and show. All considered, this is a great resort offering many activities for a fun family vacation with various options for managing the cost of meals during your stay.

We have stayed at this property 5-6 times and love the facility. If you vacation with a group of multi-generational family members it is perfect. Beach, mirror-like lagoons, Marriott-quality amenities, spacious condos- it is all there. If you are looking for a well orchestrated back of the house - timely check in process, consistent food quality, attentive service - this Marriott will try your patience. Would we return? Yes. Would we recommend it to discerning friends - no.

Our family of six stayed at the Ko Olina Beach Club from the 10th to 14th of June before embarking on Pride of America. We had a 2 bedroom suite with ocean view. The suite was updated and the view was just outstanding! Plenty comfortable for the entire family. The washer and dryer were a welcome amenity. The Marriot is a beautiful property located in an area of other resorts and amenities. It was definitely nice to have a place near to the city, but also out of the city traffic. Even a couple of the kids remarked about the beautiful flowers and the variety of plants and trees. Cute little pineapples! It was an easy drive North to shore, but also South to Honolulu. The Ko Olina area has a nice grocery store, great restaurants, and beautiful walking trails. The trail along the shoreline links all of the hotels in the area and is a wonderful walk in the AM as well as at sunset.

The Marriot: The big pool is amazing--the kids just loved it! The lagoon is great too. It's like having 2 huge pools, one salt water and one fresh water. The staff was very friendly, approachable and responded immediately to any requests. We also ate most mornings at the buffet breakfast at Longboards, OK, it's not cheap, but it was delicious and fresh the waitstaff very friendly. I was amazed that the resort never seemed crowded at all. The pool gets real busy midday, but the beach along the lagoon was often nearly deserted. We really enjoyed the arts and crafts and local entertainers that were around the grounds most evenings.

We've stayed at a lot of resorts, and this is maybe at the top. Just a beautiful, wonderful place. A great value. Thanks for a great stay Marriot Ko Olina!

Room Tip: Go to Monkeypod for dinner! Outstanding! A very nice walk too from the resort.

This is a beautiful resort. The landscaping is perfect, the lagoon is blue and clear. We had a 2 bedroom villa on the 7th floor, direct ocean view. Kitchen was very updated and room were good size. It states sleeps 6, but they only had 4 chairs for the balcony and no linens for the fold out couch. We got checked in right away, good service but they had a crew power washing the pool and deck from the Monday we got in until it reopened on the Monday we left, was disappointing that we could not enjoy the balcony until after 5 each day.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a villa on floor 6 or above. Get ocean front only

This is the first time we stayed at the Marriott, in Hawaii. The staff was friendly, personable, and incredible. The grounds are very well kept up., the reflection pool is for adults to relax and reflect, the beaches are beautiful and well kept. given flowers, water, information, dvd rentals, close to everything, shopping, golf, restaurants. The rooms were huge with a full kitchen, washer dryer, living space 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, balcony with a view of the ocean. ALOHA ! we will be back. yoga and fitness classes on the beach.

Room Tip: rooms by the ocean up high were quiet . we re on the top floor.
