“Poor quality, expensive food”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We ate here for both Dinner and Breakfast. For Dinner, the prices was $43 per adult (with adult starting at a fairly young age) and $32 per adult for the character breakfast. The character part of the character breakfast was nice, but otherwise the price/value just isn't there. As mentioned in my overall review of Aulani, the quality is better than Golden Corral but not much better than a cruise ship buffet. If you want to see how to do a buffet, try the one in Hotel Granvia in Kyoto. The selection was good but the quality just isn't there.

Go across the street to Roy's or go in to Kapolei.

“Character Breakfast at the Disney Aulani Resort”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

My family and I were staying at the Marriott Ko Olina Resort but wanted to check out the Disney Aulani Resort. Since I had two 16-year-old girls with me, we left hubby in the room and booked the Character Breakfast for March 17th. Since we were not Disney guests, I could not book reservations more than 24 hours ahead of time. We took the Ko Olina shuttle that morning from the Marriott and we were delivered to the Disney Aulani. This resort is BREATHTAKING! Before being seated at our table, each party had a photo opportunity with Mickey in his Hawaiian themed outfit. Staff were very cordial with taking photos with our cameras and phones. Also took individual pics as well as group pics. As we ate breakfast, staff brought over their professional photo package to show us and we were given the option to purchase for $32. I did purchase the photo package since it was very nicely packaged and very reasonably priced. However, there is no pressure whatsoever to purchase.

During the breakfast, Minnie and Goofy came around to each table for photo op with our personal camera. Also, there were mini-parades for the kids with the characters throughout the restaraunt so it was very noisy at times.

As for the food, though it was quality buffet breakfast food, I did not think it was worth the $32 per adult. However, I felt that the price was reasonable for the TOTAL experience we had and would be a great treat for kids of any age.

“Character Breakfast Is Awesome”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We took our 4 year old boy to the Disney character breakfast even though we weren't staying at the resort. Seeings as we had to hire a car to drive over from our accomodation in Waikiki, it was a pretty expensive undertaking. But it was worth every cent.

The staff were super friendly and so focussed on ensuring you had a wonderful time. When our little one saw Mickey for the first time (it was a surprise), the look on his face was priceless. And Mickey, Minnie and Goofy all took as much time as you wanted to make all the kiddies feel at ease and get as many photos as you wanted. After we finished breakfast and were looking at the fish in the pond, one of the caretakers offered our son some food to feed the fish. While he was doing this, Goofy left the breakfast and came over behind us and gave our son a pat on the head and another hug. It was these little touches that made the brekafast perfect.

The buffet food would have to be the best I have ever had and I espeically liked the lowered buffet for children (not to mention the Mickey shaped waffles). The wait staff struck a perfect blend of attentiveness and leaving us to enjoy the occasion.

I couldn't recommend the character breakfast highly enough to families as well as adults wanting to relive their childhood. I found it quite amazing that more than half the tables were just adults with no kids.

“Lots of food”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

We did the buffet here twice during our trip. While it might be considered a little pricey for a buffet, the food was excellent, including the sushi.

“Great Food to try at least once while at Aulani”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Five of us had the buffet dinner and it was a little pricey, $43.00 per person, but everyone agreed it was worth it. The food is fresh, the salmon is amazing and the prime rib is tender and juicy; The fresh fruit (especially the blackberries, strawberries and blueberries)is delicious. The molten chocolate cake is like liquid warm chocolate and the macadamia nut cookie with dark chocolate is a taste treat. We can't afford to eat here every day, but it is a treat I wouldn't miss.
