You always get 5 star service and class from Disney and the Aulani did not disappoint.

Although check in 11am was a bit crazy (everyone leaving and arriving at the same time) it moved quickly. Room wasn't ready but there is a lounge where you can change. Room ready around 2:00.
Pools are crowded with kids. There is a small quiet adult only pool and jacuzzi (but I saw some small kids in there on our last day). Lots of lifeguards. Great long lazy river which was relaxing for the adults and kids.
Restaurants are mostly quick service with fried foods (chicken fingers, fried shrimp, hot dogs) but you can get s grilled chicken sandwich and burger or Caesar salad if you look at the right place.
Poolside service a bit slow.

We rented the upper Vera da for a day (reasonable at 150 for 4 chairs Nd it was in a very private area overlooking the ocean and not too sunny--perfect!) great deal. If you want a cabana they sell out quick. See if you can arrange for one before you get there (425 for the day).

Rooms are big and there are 2 queens as opposed to doubles which was a nice change. Private toilet room and a nice shower with 2 shower heads.

Beautiful beach/Bay Area where you can rent stand up paddle boards. Paddle boards and sand toys are complimentary which was nice. Lots of umbrellas and chairs available.

Love this hotel and hate to leave.

I absolutely loved it here. When you are greeted, they give you beautiful leis. It was so beautiful, sitting out on the balcony and looking over the pool and gorgeous beach. We went in July, so it was very busy. Just getting a float for the Lazy pool took about 20 minutes. With that said, the hotel has a Lazy pool! There were lots of kids at this resort, and the lounge chairs were all taken by 9 AM. We got a one bedroom, which came with a large master bedroom and huge bathroom. I loved the amenities. They also let you borrow two, long, white robes, where were comfortable. It is true that they have a pull out coach and another make-shift bed under the TV which are not comfortable. There are two nice restaurants at the hotel, and one quick-dine facility. There were also a couple of shops (shave ice, ice cream, etc.) in the pool area. The pool area is amazing. You can go scuba-diving at the hotel (really, it's for kids, but it's fun), multiple pools and a fun tube and non-tube slide, and various hot tubes. The infinity pool hot tub was incredible. I love the luau as well. Yes, everything is expensive -- but you're in Hawaii and it's to be expected. I thought the coffee was very good, but this is coming from a girl who drinks three cups of Dunkin' Donuts coffee a day. There are a couple of little shops to purchase souvenirs, but there is also a shopping plaza across the street where you can purchase items. In fact, they have a restaurant called the MonkeyPod across the street which is excellent, especially when you go at happy hour. In other words, you don't have to eat at the restaurant at the hotel. And they also have some wonderful excursions that you could take. I just really loved everything about this vacation (except for the very long flight). I think that Disney did an excellent job, and I highly recommend visiting. As expected, everything is clean, and the fish pond is a real treat.

Resort is in mint shape with everything very new and maintained well. We stayed in 2 bedroom ocean view with total of 5 people. Room was great and spacious and view was good. Ocean view was significantly more points (or money if paying cash). As many reviewers commented the chairs get taken pretty quick especially around the pool so you need to get out early. Water slides and lazy river were fun. Restaurants were overpriced and uninspiring. So far from most other areas and cab to airport is $58 so round trip with tip your looking at $130. Waikiki is over $100 for cab and with 5 people uber XL was not much cheaper. There is a free shuttle that goes around the immediate area (all walkable) so I recommend taking advantage of it. Roys restaurant is at CC across the street and very pricey but better than AMA AMA which was more $. Monkey pod restaurant also across street good for lunch.

This hotel is outstanding. From the rooms to the shops to the pools and snorkeling lagoon you'd never have to leave property and still be busy throughout your stay.
We are DVC members and stayed in a two bedroom with a full kitchen. The room was nicely apportioned and had all the amenities that you'd expect from Disney. Our balcony looked over the pool area and we could see the ocean as well.
The pool area was great with a very relaxing lazy river. There were two water slides and the only hit is the lines were always long except for when they first opened and right before they closed the slide for the day.
Overall great stay with friendly knowledgeable staff. Would definitely stay again if we go back to Hawaii.

We stayed here for a few nights just my wife and I in July. It has every aspect and detail you would expect from a Disney property. A few good dinner spots, great poolside bar, and our room was very nice. We are DVC members so we used some points to grab the larger suite. Decently close to Honolulu. Take your kids. Plenty for them to do. Wouldn't recommend going as a couple. Overall A+ from Disney.
