What an amazing 5 days! We loved this hotel. It is tucked away and when you first arrive it doesn't look like the nicest area but once you know about this place, you never want to leave. The room was lovely, it is in a little bay and you can swim in the pool, have bbqs and just sit on the decks or your balcony and relax (the gym was sweet too). The breakfast is lovely and lots of choice. The staff are so friendly and really know their stuff. They gave us some great ideas about what to do on the island and gave us maps and numbers! They also helped us work out our car hire. You can hire canoes and snorkels for free which is great. We didn't have the best experience on the canoes but the staff were so apologetic and helped us out. The bbqs are great too. We had some lovely evening meals sitting out by the bay. The little kitchen was great for our needs.

We didn't want to leave as we loved this place so much!

My husband and I just celebrated our 21st year of marriage and wanted to do something special.
We decided to stay at Paradise Bay Resort in Kaneohe. We got the Honeymoon Suite it was
beautiful. The view overlooking our balcony of the bay and the mountains were awesome. The suite was by it self so we had a lot of privacy. The room was large with two complete bathrooms
one of the baths had a jacuzzi tub, what a pleasure! We had a complete kitchen that we used to
cook our special Dinner. We ate by candlelight on the deck overlooking the water. The King sized bed was so comfortable. We had a wonderful time and it will be a special memory for us.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny

We loved our stay at Paradise Bay! We were a little concerned about the area around the resort, but were VERY PLEASED once we got there. We traveled to Oahu for a wedding and had two adjoining rooms. The rooms have been recently updated and are very nice and clean. The complementary breakfast was excellent! All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The decks and views are amazing! We spent most of the daytime on the deck taking in the beautiful views. The only thing that I would suggest is they place grab bars in the shower. I shared a room with my elderly mother-in-law and she could have used them. Thank you for the wonderful experience and if we go back--we will stay there again!

Room Tip: If you are seeking wonderful views from your room, choose a room along the main road on the east sid...

We paid $250 per night ($315 with taxes and fees) for one of the basic rooms with a very limited view. Based on the website and the price, we were very disappointed. The room had some cool artwork but the basics were seriously lacking. The sofa was very uncomfortable. You keep sliding off. The small kitchen has no tea towels, no shelf in the bedroom closet, no rack for your suitcase. Small things you'd expect in a decent hotel room. It's a quiet street but the neighborhood is rundown and there's nothing within walking distance.

The breakfast sucked. Nothing cooked, just a big pot of oatmeal, cold cereal, Eggo frozen waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, danish from Costco. I've had much better at a Holiday Inn for $125 per night.

To add insult to injury, the SU paddle boards, which we were told would be included, cost $35 per person. But, the water in this back bay area is very brackish and funky so you probably wouldn't want to do it anyway. There are no beaches in the area. If you're looking for a true resort away from Waikiki with white sand beaches and lower prices, try Turtle Bay on the north shore or Ko'olina on the leeward side right next to the new Disney resort.

Aloha Glenn,

Thank you for taking time to give us your feedback. We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations. At Paradise Bay Resort, we take pride in providing an authentic Hawaiian experience with an intimate setting. Guest Services is always our number one priority.
We have a mix of guest room suites, from waterfront cottages to partial mountain views. Most of our guests are happy with our shirt and skirt hangers rather than shelving to avoid folding and packing their clothes. But, I greatly appreciate your comment on luggage rack and will look into providing in the future.
All our guest room suites are equipped with kitchenettes and we provide all the necessary utensils. I apologize, you were missing a kitchen towel. Our Guest Services representative would have been more than happy to take care of it.
Our beautiful Kaneohe bay is the largest sheltered body of water in all the Hawaiian islands. It is only one of the two largest unique barrier reef in Hawaii. Due to low or high tide, sometimes the water near to the shore gets a little murky. But, if you get into our complimentary Kayaks or paddle boards and paddle few feet away from the shore, the water is absolutely gorgeous with turtles, tropical fish, Manta rays, and rare sea birds.
Paradise Bay Resort is in close proximity to some of the most beautiful beaches. Kailua and Lani Kai beaches are within a very short driving distance. Also, if you are heading to North beach, we have Kualoa beach park.
We appreciate your comments and will share with our team members. Thank you for staying with us

We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every minute. It was a good location but hidden away off the main road. It was a true paradise. We had a great continental breakfast with many choices every morning. We also enjoyed the Wednesday night buffet dinner hosted by a true Hawaiian singer. He played all my favorite requests from the 50's. After 5 days we stayed in Waikiki and I will never go back. What a zoo! This resort by far was a super find! My son and I did a kayak tour and it was very relaxing. I would definitely go back here! True paradise! Our view from our 2 bedroom suite was excellent.

Aloha,

Thank you for your review and your words of appreciation for our resort! We too especially love Wednesday nights here at Paradise Bay, as Uncle Kimo brings a bit of true Hawaiian sounds to our lovely open-air Lanai. There's nothing like listening to the soothing tunes of the guitar under the stars! The fact that you got out on the kayaks as well is even better! Paddling out in Paradise can't be beat. We look forward to your next stay with us!

I came from having a terrible experience in Waikiki to having the BEST EXPERIENCE in Kaneohe.
This resort is located in a lush Jungle. The entry road looks questionable but once inside you will be treated to complementary breakfast and parking. I stayed in 3 different rooms, all unique and very clean. It was completely relaxing and when I return I will stay there again!

Room Tip: Rooms are some times located down a flight of stairs. I enjoyed all rooms for different reasons. Cle...

This is the ultimate getaway hotel. The best stay we have ever had.

I almost don't want to give Paradise Bay Resort a great review because I don't want word to get out of this fabulous find. I know we will come again and I want to be able to get a room!

Nestled in a residential area and perched on the inlet of a river, this wonderful hotel is the tropical experience you would expect when you think of an island getaway.

If you want the free lei and concierge desk or the big fancy luau and bell hop and room service, you are wise to stay in Waikiki. If by “resort” you are expecting to be spoiled and pampered by trained hotel personnel, you will undoubtedly be disappointed. There is only maid service three times a week. You have to get your own food from the local Safeway or Foodland (although they do provide a nice breakfast). You even have to cook your own food if you want something warm.

But if you want to live, if only briefly, among the tropical trees with a view of the every changing Kaneohe bay….. if you don’t mind making your own bed and buying your own wine to sip on the lanai while listening to the sounds of the local birds and watching the shades of the river and bay change colors as night falls. Then don’t wait another moment before booking it.

We have stayed in many different hotels, enjoying each for its own offerings. But here we had found total peace. It was a gem of a hotel offering what we wanted from our trip to Hawaii… to enjoy our surroundings in quiet solitude. To hear the sounds of nature and not be rushed or pressured to do anything but sit and enjoy.

Room Tip: Spend the money to get a suite on the water. It is the only way to experience this hotel.

Aloha Daniela,

We are delighted to hear your rave reviews of Paradise Bay! We appreciate your honest awareness of what a true "gem" of Hawaii we have here tucked away on the Windward side. "Total peace" is exactly what you will find here and we are so glad to know you found it as well during your stay with us. As per your advice regarding the waterfront suites, we absolutely agree..to be so close to the soothing waters of Kaneohe Bay is an experienced unmatched. Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aloha! We are very excited to announce the completion of our room and property renovations. We will continue to enhance the property as other resorts do, however the bulk of work is complete. We appreciate all of the input we received both positive and negative and we have used it to get to the point we are today. We were recently awarded the 2014 TripAdvisor Award of Excellence. We are blessed to be part of what we all consider to be the most beautiful tropical setting in the Hawaiian Islands. Now the property, accommodations and warm staff complement our surroundings. We call ourselves True Hawaii and what does that mean? Our setting reveals the answer. We are located in a panorama of spectacular natural and tropical beauty, from amazing Hawaiian mountain ranges and lush tropical landscape, to beautiful Kaneohe Bay, Chinaman's Hat Island and out to the Pacific Ocean. We border an ancient Hawaiian fishpond surrounded by lush tropical mangroves. The Kahuona Fishpond is one of the last remaining working fishponds and is designated a historical site. We are the only resort property with private access to Kaneohe Bay. Kaneohe Bay hosts the most abundant and diverse sea life and reef system in the Hawaiian Islands and our guests can access it safely right from the resort. Our design fits with the environment and has a contemporary and authentic Hawaiian look and feel. We thank our guests who have stayed with us in the past and helped to support us. We appreciate your patience with the renovations and know you will be delighted on your next stay. The property, guest rooms, new amenities, services and warm staff are here to take care of you. We offer our guests the same entertainment, special Saturday sand bar excursion and we have added a few more; a Friday evening Firedance Show, additional live Hawaiian music and surprise cultural classes. We have added some new things such as; a fitness room, Wi-Fi, on call spa service, new pool and hot tub, new floating lounge areas, conference room, intimate wedding ceremonies and we are pet friendly. We have renovated and upgraded our guestrooms with; new furnishings, artwork, premium pillow top mattresses, luxurious bedding and linens as well as new flat screen TV's and IPod docks.Kayak use is still included and we also have Standup Paddle Boards and private boat charter available. We look forward to seeing you the next time you come to Paradise. Warm Aloha, David and Stephanie Ryan ... more   less
