We live on the island & wanted to try something out of Waikiki. We would not stay here again, atleast not with our kids. The walls are sooo thin that you can hear Everything! In our case a couple drunk guys cussing & playing music all night. Like in a previous review, someone said not to stay in rooms 63, 64, & 65. I agree. Those rooms are right under the lobby/eating area. So, @ 6:00am you can hear the coffee service begin and it will wake you up. Very very steep stairs, deffinatley not good for little kids. No place to eat there or anywhere around there unless you drive, so bring your own food. We also booked the boat ride they have on Saturdays for $25 a person, but it rained so it was cancelled. We were supposed to be @ the boat dock by 9:45am & were told @ 9:15am that is was still leaving even though it was raining. So we took our kids to the dock by 9:45 & waited & waited & waited! 10am came & went, & nobody came to even tell us it was cancelled. Right then my husband said that this place was just not managed well. Someone should have been down there. They had no other activities for kids, so we ended up just checking out after 1 night. It deffinatley isn't a place worth $200+ dollars a night! I deffinatley recommend just staying in Waikiki & driving to that side of the island, since you would need a car to do anything around there anyways.

We stayed 2 nights at Paradise Bay and loved it. It was quiet and peaceful and had a personal approach to service. (similar to a B&B). It sits atop a hill overlooking a bay with mountains surrounding. A truly beautiful view, different from all the other areas on the island. Won’t get this view in Waikiki!

The resort offered a Mai Tai Friday night with food and then a Hawaiian fire show. We got to mingle with a some other guests and then watch the show which was fun and entertaining.

Would definitely return here, I’d highly recommend a view room or on the water.

Enjoyed a month stay there while searching for a home. The owner and staff makes it a welcoming place to be. The area and rooms are inviting and clean. Will go and stay there again any time I need a home away from home.

The resort is recently renovated and a delight for an intimate, small scale experience. I've been to all the other major resorts on the island and this is an entirely different treat. I had a 2 bedroom suite that was very comfortable with 2 king beds and all the luxuries of home, including a kitchen. The Fri night happy hour was fun with great mai tais, and the Saturday boat trip was a delight as well. My favorite was hanging out on the chaise lounges reading under some palm trees. Access to the island was fabulous - all the windward side sights are close by and neither Waikiki nor the North Shore are far.

The staff is EXTREMELY helpful. I left my driver's liscense at the front desk after renting a kayak, and Carlos drove to Honolulu to give it to me so I could fly home. Definitely first rate service!

Please note, there is no beach. But I did not miss this, given the lounging pontoons on the bay. There is also a pool and hot tub, though I did not use them.

Overall a great experience - one a prefer to the madness in Waikiki. Much more friendly and intimate than Turtle Bay or Ko'olina. I give it two thumbs up!

Room Tip: Ask to get close to the bay - my suite was lovely, just around the corner from the water.

After being in Waikiki for a week getting over to the windward side of Oahu and staying at Paradise Bay was a breath of fresh air! The Hotel is located right on the bay. It is boutique style and is beginning to adopt an Eco friendly approach. The staff is extremely friendly. There is a nice pool to hang out, kayaks are free to take into the bay and they even have stand up paddle boards. The best is their Saturday Morning Boat trip where they stop at a secluded reef to snorkel and then a sand bar to hang out and swim. A truly unique experience that you wont find in Waikiki!

Room Tip: Go for a room with a deck right on the bay.

We were guests of the resort from August 15, 2012 thru the 18th.

From check-in to check-out, our stay was wonderful. The staff was amazing, the service terrific, and we always felt welcome. The rooms that we had were wonderful, they were equipped with a refrigerator, a stove top with two burners, and a microwave. Dishes, silverware, pans, were all provided as well as a corkscrew for our wine.

The grocery store was about 10 min away. I really liked being able to have our choice of snack, drinks, and meals if we wanted, with out having to go out once we shopped. This is a great bonus if you are traveling with children as well!

There was a lovely balcony just off the living room that we sat out on had our drinks, and just admired the beautiful view and enjoyed the peacefulness. There was also a dining pub table with four stools just off the kitchen. The living room had a flat screen TV, couch and coffee table.

The coffee, toast, fresh pineapple, oatmeal, juice, boiled eggs and a few other things were always out by 6:30 for the breakfast crowd. There was absolutely nothing to compare to sitting on the breakfast balcony early in the morning and seeing a double rainbow over the amazing view, just spectacular!!

This is a perfect spot for just getting away from it all! Facilities are excellent, comfortable, and clean. . We enjoyed the Wednesday night get together, great food, great company, Mai Tai’s and live entertainment.

This is Hawaii and therefore you expect the scenery to be beautiful and as advertised it was. This little bit of heaven is tucked away in an area that is a little hard to find – But once found it is amazing.
Quiet, tranquil, secluded, peaceful, are a few words that can be used to describe the resort. Will we return? Without question. When? As soon as possible.

Room Tip: Closer to the bay the better.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aloha! We are very excited to announce the completion of our room and property renovations. We will continue to enhance the property as other resorts do, however the bulk of work is complete. We appreciate all of the input we received both positive and negative and we have used it to get to the point we are today. We were recently awarded the 2014 TripAdvisor Award of Excellence. We are blessed to be part of what we all consider to be the most beautiful tropical setting in the Hawaiian Islands. Now the property, accommodations and warm staff complement our surroundings. We call ourselves True Hawaii and what does that mean? Our setting reveals the answer. We are located in a panorama of spectacular natural and tropical beauty, from amazing Hawaiian mountain ranges and lush tropical landscape, to beautiful Kaneohe Bay, Chinaman's Hat Island and out to the Pacific Ocean. We border an ancient Hawaiian fishpond surrounded by lush tropical mangroves. The Kahuona Fishpond is one of the last remaining working fishponds and is designated a historical site. We are the only resort property with private access to Kaneohe Bay. Kaneohe Bay hosts the most abundant and diverse sea life and reef system in the Hawaiian Islands and our guests can access it safely right from the resort. Our design fits with the environment and has a contemporary and authentic Hawaiian look and feel. We thank our guests who have stayed with us in the past and helped to support us. We appreciate your patience with the renovations and know you will be delighted on your next stay. The property, guest rooms, new amenities, services and warm staff are here to take care of you. We offer our guests the same entertainment, special Saturday sand bar excursion and we have added a few more; a Friday evening Firedance Show, additional live Hawaiian music and surprise cultural classes. We have added some new things such as; a fitness room, Wi-Fi, on call spa service, new pool and hot tub, new floating lounge areas, conference room, intimate wedding ceremonies and we are pet friendly. We have renovated and upgraded our guestrooms with; new furnishings, artwork, premium pillow top mattresses, luxurious bedding and linens as well as new flat screen TV's and IPod docks.Kayak use is still included and we also have Standup Paddle Boards and private boat charter available. We look forward to seeing you the next time you come to Paradise. Warm Aloha, David and Stephanie Ryan ... more   less
