The tour I took stopped at the Macadamia Farms and we could tast their coffee and buy some macadamia nuts, wich were great! Nice views from the hills, and lots of things to look at for shopping.

This place isn't really publicized and we were told to go from some friends. The tour is 20$ a person but is one of the best tours on the island in my opinion. You start out on a bus and make your way to a mini Hawaiian village. They teach you basic survival like making a fire, opening and coconut, and how to make coconut milk. You see a mini fire dance and then head to a boat where you get amazing views!! U see where so many shows and movies were taped. This tour is great and very child friendly! Awesome time!!

My friend who's lived here in the countryside all his life didn't even know this place existed! It's a bit hard to find and hidden within the greens if you're not paying attention.
I love this place! free samples of macadamia nuts. The guys chillin outside are always friendly. Place looks awesome. There's a stoned cat outside.
One word: Kava :)
I haven't taken the tour yet, but that's where I'll be next! This place is usually never listed on most of the tourist attraction sites I've seen, so if you go, you're one of the few lucky ones to find it!

I happened to find this attraction while web surfing for Honolulu places to visit. It is covered in Island Circle Tours, but you will need a vehicle to take the tour as the buses only stop long enough to visit the store. We cruised the store and its samples of macadamia nuts and Kona coffee. We went through the store to book our tour and weren't disappointed. Tama, in native Hawaiian attire, greeted us at the tour desk, described the tour, and collected our $20 for the experience. We sat under the macadamia trees to wait and watched the chickens run around. The "Jungle Bus" arrived (a former small school bus painted jungle green). We were loaded into the bus by Tama and set off into the "jungle". We stopped throughout the grounds to learn about the fruit trees planted and marked throughout the property. When there were fruit to be seen Tama stopped the bus, got out, removed the fruit from the trees, sliced it with his machete, and distributed the slices throughout the bus for us to taste. We had star fruit, guava, limes, and sniffed the cinnamon tree. At each plant he talked about how the Hawaiians used every part of the tree in daily life. Next stop was the boat - we cruised around the 800 year old man-made lake while Tama talked about stocking the lake with fish for the early peoples to eat. The island created was the location of Gilligan's Island. The view from the lake is fantastic and Tama tells a good tale. After visiting more trees, we stopped at the coconut area. Tama demonstrated how to rub sticks together to make fire, did a fire dance, husked a coconut, shaved the meat for us all to sample, and made royal headdresses out of coconut leaves for all the ladies.

Overall, a delightful tour and location that should not be missed.

Disney, eat your heart out, this is the friendliest place on Earth! The ladies inside are kind and helpful, and generous with the Kona. And the Ali'i tour is a wonderful example of the Samoan version of the aloha/ohana sprit. Whether your tour is conducted by Tama or Chief, the boys are sure to make your day. And TJ works really hard. can I come back now?
