“Do not want to share this place with others”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

You can find many faces in this beach via public accesses. Each access has different scenery. Though no shower is available, you can use the shower and toilet at Kailua beach. Beautiful and must see.

“Sunrise at Lanikai”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

This beach is a must see for visitors! From the cutesy town and beach front homes, the Kayaks parked up on the sand, boats anchored close to shore, the beautiful sunrise, gorgeous blue water, and beautiful walkway to the sand Lanikai should be on your must see list! This beach is lined with photogs in the early morning trying to capture the famed Lanikai Sunrise, couples are taking pre-wedding photo's on the sand and playing around in the water, people ware walking their dogs, and even though this sounds like a crowded mess of people, it's not. At least not at 6 or 7am in the morning (if you're there to catch the sunrise). LOL

Great superfine sand, water is turquoise- the stuff screensaver images are made of! Water is calm, and there are great views around! One of my favourite beaches!

“AMAZING BEACH”

If you are in Oahu, you have to see this beach. It is beyond beautiful. A description of it will not do it justice. This is a must!!

“My favorite place in the World! Hands Down!”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

I have many memories from this place from my youth but it wasn’t until my adult trips back to Oahu until I really understood how amazing this place was. Now that I have traveled to all the other islands in addition to half way around the world I can now appropriately compare Lanikai and without hesitation declare it to be the most amazing place that I believe exists. Walking down a beach access is like walking into a baseball park and seeing the green grass and the game slowly open up in front of you. If you have ever been there then you know that a return trip builds so much anticipation that you will have butterflies when you reach the sand and the beauty of this place opens up before you. What an awesome place. Hard to park but that’s because the parking rules favor the local residents, rightfully so. You will have no trouble at all finding a clear place to set your beach gear even on the busiest of days. The closest public bathrooms and showers are at the boat ramp which is just before you enter Lanikai. There are not any vendors or shops in Lanikai but they can be found just in town. It is most important to respect the locals as this is an old and very close community that deserves your respect. Leave with everything you came in with! What keeps this place beautiful is respect for it. If you see a piece of trash...pick it up! Don’t leave bottles, food, bags or anything that God didn’t put there.
