“Zia's - for food and nature”
Review of Zia's Caffe - CLOSED

We always enjoy lunch at Zia's. We eat the 'catch of the day' fish and sometimes the salads which are both very good. We have had the pasta too, which is good. My wife loves the special ice tea and the grandkids love the kids lunch, usually mac and cheese. We always take a walk behind the restaurant to look at the fish and rare birds in the Hamakua Marsh, part of an 830 acre wetland complex. Many times we see 'auku'u (black-crowned night herons), ae'o (Hawaiian stilt) and the 'alae 'ula (Hawaiian moorhen) which are endangered and rare but sometimes walk into the outdoor sitting area. Come here to enjoy food and nature.

Loved the food but it was a lot, we had to take 1/2 with us. A little laid back but overall good. We would go back if we were in the area.

I enjoyed Zia's for dinner last night. The service was great. The food was good for the money. It was not as good ad fomaggios but it was fine. We had the brueshetta and a salad and the good was fine.

We were staying at a b&b in the area and wanted to get a bite to eat. this place had a locals feel and a hometown charm. we sat outside...i think there is mostly only outside seating here. service was extremely friendly and we felt very welcomed. we shared the special of the day, mahi mahi with spinach and mashed potatoes. the pototoes could have been cooked a little longer but the dish in itself was delicious. big portions. the fresh bread and tapenade were a great start and the coffee was very good. we didn't have desert but apparently this place is know for it. i would come back here again in a heartbeat. a definite find in kailua.

I agree that there was some road noise (read later reviews), but that wouldn't keep me from going back. The service was spectacular and the wine recommendation by our server was spot on. Additionally, it took a bit longer for our food to come out and our server stopped by with an extra glass of red for us as we waited.

I just moved to the island from Italy and have had a hard time finding truly GOOD Italian food. Although this isn't the same as eating caprese salad in the region of Campania, it's a good meal with good service.

We will be back.
