A local recommended this place, and we were a bit hesitant since it's in a strip mall, and we weren't really looking for Italian in Hawaii. We walked in and saw the giant blackboard wall and the open kitchen and thought, uh-oh, trendy. Bet it will disappoint. It didn't.
We sat at the bar/counter and so were able to watch the very dedicated cooks prepare the food (The expeditor was equally dedicated, checking every plate carefully). These are serious cooks, and the food showed it. We had a radicchio salad special, roasted in the pizza oven, drizzled with balsamic, and covered with shaved parmesan. Excellent. So was the pizza.
Our best meal in Hawaii.
