“Fabulous tea”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

What a lovely spot for ladies to get together! I am usually a white tea girl but the English Breakfast brew was delightful... It didn't need milk at all and was so refreshing. The scones aren't strictly Victorian, being served solo sans cream&jam or even butter, but where fruit flavored and pleasant nonetheless. I'll definitely be back!

“Tea Selection Velentne Dinner Special”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

A very nice atmosphere. Large selection of teas. We had the Valentines Dinner special. The salad and soup was delicious Choice was prime rib or salmon. The prime rib was fine but the salmon over cooked. The veggies and garlic potatoes were cold on delivery and service could ave been better. The dessert was RSR sherbet with chocolate covered strawberry. Very unique. Overall a nice dining experience saved by the decor and teas.

“Charming lunch venue”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

My friend and I, townies both, ventured out to Kailua on a sunny Saturday to try, A Cup of Tea, a tearoom in Kailua. We found lots of parking on the street and filled the meter for two hours.
Upon our entry, we were warmly greeted and invited to select one of dozens of teas for our lunch. The menu is varied, with at least a half dozen options from about $15.00 to 30.00. We selected the option which included a soup or salad, scones, tea sandwiches and desserts.

A full pot of steaming hot tea arrived and shortly thereafter, the sandwiches, scones and desserts. The sandwiches were delicious, including cucumber, cream cheese, tuna, ham wraps. The salad, with fresh Waimanalo greens and their special salad was especially good.

We had a leisurely lunch and could not finish all the sandwiches, or the brownies and blueberry cream cheese square which comes with vanilla ice cream. The tea room is nicely decorated and the front portioh of the restaurant features jewelry and other trinkets and nick nacs for browsing. Unfortunately, our meter ran out of time and we did not have enough time to browse.

The service is friendly and welcoming. The owner chatted with us and told us about the monthly special events (Bingo nights, costume party for Halloween) held there. This was worth the trip and worth a return visit.

“Great Ambiance for Red Hatters”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

To reinforce all the recent reviews of this establishment; I would like to confirm that this is the best tea place in the State!!!! I am a Queen Mother of a Chapter of the Red Hat Society. We have had several Red Hat events at A Cup of Tea and each time we had the time of our lives. The decor is elegant, the food delicious and abundant, and the ambiance so appropriate for Red Hatting hattitudes. This place makes us feel so elegant in our Red Hat regalia and adds to the spirit and happiness of the event. Darlene, the proprietor, is always gracious and pleasant and her staff are efficient and happy workers. I would recommend this restaurant for any event. I have even brought my daughters, daughters-in-law and friends to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea and some mother/daughter bonding time.

“Tea Anyone?”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This is the best tea place in the State! The ambience is totally Victorian! It feels like you are in a mansion in England or in the movie, Pride and Prejudice! Darlene, the owner, travel to find the best items for the little shop portion of this wonderful restaurant. The food is prepared very fresh, right there, and they make their own salad dressing that will be on the market soon. They also make their own clotted cream! I don't think anyone else in the State does that and their scones are to die for! They are open for birthdays, showers and they even have a newsletter to keep you informed on Bingo night and Movie night! They celebrate every Holiday! Get your little pinkie up and sip some wonderful blends of tea. Ok.....I have even seen men there but without the pinkie thing!
