“Great place for a family day”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

My wife and I shared a few hours together on a busy Sunday afternoon at Kailua Beach Park. This place has a huge, expansive beach. Plus acres of grassy, sheltered areas. Families were enjoying the day by the hundreds. Yet this place is big enough that you don't feel cramped with all the humanity. There are convenient rest rooms and outdoor showers on site. It's a nice place to experience the Hawaiian Aloha.

“Beautiful beach, perfect for everyone”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We visited Kailua Beach Park twice in November 2013 and really enjoyed both visits. The sand is soft, the water is that clear, turquoise Hawaiian color and there are basic amenities to keep you comfortable. The scenery is gorgeous of course and the beach is a gathering place for locals and tourists alike, so you will see a variety of people. I loved seeing the locals with their dogs playing and walking along the water. At different times, you will also see the canoe clubs out practicing or you can rent a canoe and head out on your own or take lessons, so you will see plenty of people participating in water activities. We also noticed a lot of paddleboarders and snorkelers.

This was one of our favorite beaches and it was incredibly easy to access and had a designated parking lot. It's definitely worth the trip and is very close to Lanikai if you want to split your time between the two.

“White sands”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

This was a great find for someone that is not local to the area. The sand is so soft and comfortable to walk on. This was one of the best beaches I have been to. There are showers, restrooms, and a grassy park nearby. The waves were small and good for families to enjoy.

“Excellent Beach on Windward side”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

We spent a couple hours here while visiting the Windward side. It was a nice beach. Beautiful colors and the kids loved boogie boarding. There was a canoe race going on and that was fun to watch.
