“All the surprises were pleasant ones!”
Reviewed April 19, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed here for a weekend March beginning April – as a senior honeymoon! A perfect spot and accommodation for that! Everything was first rate. The unit itself (205) in terms of location, size, the furnishings, and appliances is first-cabin. The bathroom had a great shower and whirlpool tub. And there is a washer and dryer handy for after beach visits. The Villas themselves are situated close to the Turtle Bay Resort hotel with its many restaurants but one next to the Villas, Ola’s, is the best. We’ve stayed in many vacation condos in many locations – all have had some defect or disappointment. This one delivered as promised. No unpleasant surprises. If you compare rates between the hotel resort and these Villas you will see that it’s Villas for value. We’ll be back.

“Great stay at a Turtle Bay”

We rented a studio unit at the Ocean Villas at Turtle Bay. This was much nicer than our previous stay at one of the resorts cottage units. Gina and Vince were easy to work with and everything went as arranged. I would give the review five stars but for the uncomfortable bed that others have mentioned. We will be back, and would only consider the Ocean Villas at Turtle Bay since it appears the main resort as stepped down their service a bit from past years. Nice to retreat to a condo and not rely on the resort.

We got new, very comfortable, high end, mattresses for 12 of the 15 of the villas in our rental program (the other 3 villas have new mattresses in the works) so your next stay will be a 5 star stay!

If you desire absolute luxury in a location giving you easy access to the North Shore activities, Turtle Bay will not disappoint you. From the site, it is easy to get to Haleʻiwa town and rent snorkel gear for cheap. You must try a shave ice at Matsumoto's Shave Ice-there is no better treat than this. My favorite is root beer with ice cream at the bottom. Then get in the water at Pūpūkea, or Shark's Cove and Three Tables, for some incredible sites and swim with giant green sea turtles. You can also see turtles at the park just as you cross the Rainbow Bridge over the Anahulu River in north Haleʻiwa. There is a wonderful Heiau (sacred Hawaiian temple) called the Puʻu o Mahuka Heiau ("Hill of Escape") State Historic Site on a road up above Pūpūkea; just turn onto the road by the Foodland grocery store and head up the hill. It's a wonderful place to visit and eat a snack. The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC), run by the Mormons (can't buy a coke or coffee here) is fun, the Imax film is good, but I would skip the luau and go to the one at the Sea Life Park, near Makapuʻu Point, north of Hanauma Bay (skip the snorkeling here; its too crowded and the destruction of the coral is depressing. There are many better places to swim. Also, check out the Waimea Valley Park - a less expensive, toned-down version of the PCC and I think its a gem on the North Shore. You can see old village structures, cliff diving, and the extensive botanical labels on plants. And Waimea Beach, made famous by the Beach Boys is exquisite if you go when it is not too crowded. Along the Kamehameha Highway, there is also Sunset Beach, the Bonzai Pipeline, and surfers everywhere.
Our initial stay was for four nights but we kept extending it till we got to seven. This resort has it all and while we were there a surfing competition was being held, adding excitement to the dramatic scenery. Be sure to get a room above the fifth floor for outstanding ocean views. The restaurants can be a bit pricey, but there are local restaurants nearby with great local food. I did a little fishing there and actually caught a Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, or Hawaiian Trigger fish, the Hawaiian state fish. If you take a stroll along the beach, you can often see a Sea Monk, but best not to get too close! Go past the horse stables, and keep going until you reach a tropical peninsula area which was uninhabited by anyone but us. We had the best time of our lives. Back in the hotel lobby there was a local artist showing his work and he was very friendly in discussing his techniques. There was some minor mix-up and the manager comped us a free night-fantastic! I cannot say enough about Turtle Bay except I wish we were going back soon. We were living in Oahu at the time so we received the Kamaʻāina rate (about half price!). Oh and you can see the majestic humpback whales during the summer to about May. In January and February, expect a lot of traffic on Kamehameha Highway, as the 20-30 foot waves come in and special tournaments are held. It is remarkable to see Pūpūkea in the summer, with calm water and then again in February where turbulent, dangerously strong waves crash around. Exceptional area, fantastic hotel.

We stayed in 205, which is a studio. The views are outstanding. Perfect view of the ocean, you can see the turtle bay resort and one of their restaurants-Ola's. Also great view of the pool. It is a gated community with your own parking spot.
The unit had everything in it. Kitchen great and the beach locker had it all also.
Big bathroom with big tub and shower. Separate toilet area. You get regular towels and beach/pool towels also.
Owners very easy to work with and eager to do business.

“Beautiful Ocean/Beach Front Villa at Turtle Bay Resort”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This was a great villa for two people. It was ocean/beach front on the second level of the Ocean Villas at Turtle Bay Resort. We stayed there in September so there didn't seem to be very may people staying there, so it was quiet which we enjoyed. The great thing about the ocean villas at the resort is that they have their own private pool and hot tub. The studio villa we rented was great because it had a full kitchen, so we were able to cook breakfast, dinner, make drinks right in the condo so it saved a little money.

The only thing that I didn't like about the beach was that it was a public access beach, so you had tourists come from other parts of the island for the day. It never go super crowded, but there were a lot of families. If you've never snorkeled though, this is a great spot to take your family to try it out. You won't see a ton of sea-life, but you'll see a little.

“Fabulous Villa & Vacation”
Reviewed May 23, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed in Waikiki for 2 nights before heading to the North Shore. Waikiki was fun, but crowded, loud and crazy. We were so very happy to get away from all that chaos and arrive at our beautiful, quiet ocean villa at Turtle Bay Resort. We stayed in studio villa 202 for 7 nights. We loved being on the 2nd floor. Our view from the Lani was the beautiful Kullima Cove - about 50 yards from our villa.
The villa is as beautiful and luxurious as seen in the photos on the website. The bathroom is great with a deep, sunken tub, a separate shower, vanity area and a separate toilet area. There is also a stackable washer/dryer in the restroom. The kitchen is nicely appointed with high end appliances. The refrigerator is small, but adequate. There is a large closet for clothes & suitcases in the bedroom area. A short bookcase separates the bedroom area from the living/dining area. It has a neat feature - an electronic roll-down screen that further separates the bedroom from living area when desired. It was easy to connect the wifi to all our electronics (phones, iPad, nook). The connection was very strong so it was easy to download our email etc. There is also a safe that will hold all your electronics when you leave the villa.
We spent many happy, relaxing hours on the beach sitting in the chairs under the umbrella they supply in the storage locker. We also used the snorkel equipment to snorkel in Kullima Cove, Shark's Cove and Waimea Bay. Wow - so beautiful! We also spent time hiking the coastal trails on the resort to both the WWII bunker and also to Kahuku Point. On our way to Kahuku we saw a monk seal that had come ashore. Very neat. Sometimes we would walk over to the Hang Ten Bar at the Resort pool area, have drinks and watch the surfers.
We had a fabulous, relaxing time and can't wait to go back. Vince and Kimberly were great to work with - easy to book, answered all my questions, and released the hold on our credit card in a very timely manner. We highly recommend this beautiful studio villa!
