The place was nice and had good furnishings. It was not as clean as it should have been especially since you have to pay $175 cleaning deposit. There were food crumbs under the beds and black grit in one of the bed sheets. We have been to Hawaii several times before and had just spent 10 days on Kauai so we are used to insects (ants, spiders and geckos are the norm) and his place was no exception. But the first night there my wife stepped down off the sofa with her bare foot on top of a 6" centipede which really upset her. Our vacation could have easily been ruined as I researched and found that we were very fortunate as centipede bites can be very painful and long lasting. When we called the management office, they were quite cavalier about it and simply blamed it to “being in the tropics.” Do to the cleanliness and bug issues we were very unhappy and did not want to stay which they refused to refund any portion of the prepaid stay pointing to their policy the ‘No refunds will be given unless a rental unit becomes unfit for habitation, and this determination will be made by The Estates at Turtle Bay’…I understand now why. Spiders and ants are one thing, creatures such as centipedes are another. We were very unhappy and considering the unbending attitude of the mngt company this must be a regular occurrence. We moved to a hotel in Honolulu. We would NEVER recommend this place or properties managed by the management company.
