Owner description: Experience Hawaiʻiʻs Living Culture in Waimea Valley, deeply rooted in authentic Hawaiian History, Culture, Spirituality and Tradition. Waimea Valley is a world apart from Waikiki, be in the quiet of nature, beautiful flowers, rare plants, cultural sites and a beautiful waterfall for swimming.

There are so many amazing views on this island, that we were a bit disappointed by the falls. We found so many other state parks and open beaches that were less pricey to enter, with the same breathtaking views, that we all came to the conclusion that this was nice, but not worth the entrance fee.
There are nice cultural stations along the path to reflect and enjoy, but the falls themselves are a bit underwhelming. The buses of tourists remind you that you are indeed checking off one of the tourist 'must see's in the guidebook. Glad we saw them, but can't say we would visit again or put it on the must see list for our friends.

Good place for short hike and garden lovers. Small fall at the end that you can swim in also. Worth the visit if you can spare 3 hours.

This a great stop. The walk to the falls is beautiful. Very lush and green. Take your suit and get in the water. The swim to the falls is nice. Be aware the water is cold and the current is strong. Be careful if you are a weak swimmer.

Nice walk through botanical gardens to waterfall.
Pool freezing but fun to get in and swim around.
Wanted to go to Thursdays farmers market but didn't make it there.

My daughter and I signed up for a nature tour that included hiking about 1 1/2 miles total to see the beautiful Falls and all of the vegetation along the way. It's was beautiful and we received a brochure of the birds species we would be seeing and our tour guide pointed out what kind of trees and flowere we were seeing.. We got to see first hand what the Macadamia nut trees look like as well as the Kukui nut trees just to mention a few. Our guide was educated in botany and made it a great experience. The tour also took us to the Macadamia Nut Farm; we ate at a shrimp stand; went to a fruit and vegetable stand and a stop at the Old Sugar Mill that now grows coffee and cocoa beans. Best Tour ever!!!
