Our guide, Ricardo, was great! My son and I were certified but inexperienced. We went on an 80-minute dive at Electric Beach. Ricardo made us entirely comfortable. He explained every detail of the dive, reviewed the sea-life we might see, helped us practice breathing, led us safely through the small waves at the entry, and then led us smoothly through the reef, all the while pointing out spectacular sea-life. We saw dozens of striking fish, a few eels, starfish, coral, and four sea turtles. Ricardo regularly checked on us to ensure that we were following along, seeing the sea-life, and had plenty of air. An amazing experience.

I went for a dive with those guys - has an instructor Max who was excellent! Showed me octopus, we saw many turtles and even small whitetip shark! Literally one of best dives I did :) Thank you!!!

This past weekend I took the Apnea and Surf survival class in Pacifica, Ca. At first I was a bit hesitant because I have only taken two surf lessons and never really swim or go to the beach because the beaches in northern CA are quite cold. I also figured most people taking the class would be experienced surfers, so I was definitely intimidated.
I decided to call and spoke with Ricardo who reassured me that the class is for all levels and basically anyone who just wants to be safe in the water whether you're diving, surfing or just having fun in the water.
It was something I had been wanting to get back into after a traumatizing experience I had in my last surf session where I got pulled under, panicked and swallowed a bunch of ocean water. So I thought taking a class like this could definitely help prepare me not only physically but mentally as well. And sure enough they delivered!
I learned so much in just those two days! For never being in the water my hold time doubled! I learned so many different excercises that I can even do in the comfort of my own home. And even on the last day, Josh, a life guard who comes and helps out with the classes, basically gave me a quick lesson on how to properly paddle and turn on the board and even offered to do surf lessons outside of class! It was awesome getting to meet other surfers in the area. One guy even gave me his card to come surf with him and a few friends!
For anyone who is facing any traumatic water experience, wanting to up their surf game or just wanting to to learn safety, I don't know of any better class to take than Ricardo's class. He is extremely knowledgeable and just the most genuine and down to earth guy you will ever meet. Even after the class he still took the time to show me extra excercises to work on at home! He truly embodies the Aloha Spirit and I can't wait to work with him again.

Due to the time of the year, I was not able to dive North Shore, but the Hawaii Eco Divers accommodated me with two back to back boat tours off of South Shore (one wreck and three reef). I must say that Richardo was the most knowledgeable and explanatory dive master I have experienced. His briefs were thorough and educational, I knew where we were and what we were going to see and how we were going to see it before each dive.

He did a fantastic job of finding interesting things to see: sea turtles in multitudes, white tip reef sharks, banded coral shrimp, octopus, moray eels, a frogfish, and a few things I have never seen before the Bird Wrasse and a stunning Morrish Idol. He didn't even seem to mind that I was taking forever snapping photographs and dragging behind. The only thing I'd change is that I would have more days to do more diving with them.

The whole outfit is top-notch and I will definitely go back during the summer to dive North Shore with them.

We did a shore dive from Electric Beach and could not believe the turtles we saw, the white-tip shark, tens of thousands of fish in the warm shallow water, and Kevin was the best! He even shared with us some of the videos of eels and frog fish etc., he took on his new GoPro at the end of our dive! Highly recommended!
