Hands down the best dive I've had, the whole experience was just amazing, Ricardo took time to share the knowledge and the meaning behind the dive, the love he has for the sport can be felt by people around him, I appreciate your work, definitely will come back. Thanks!
It was AMAZING. Ricardo and Nicole are awesome! I dove with Ricardo, and it was an experience not only physical, but also spiritual and emotional. He has an energy, an environment that makes a total difference and turns diving into something far beyond what is expected, something magical! Gratitude! I consider this dive a gift of life that I will take for the rest of my life with me! thank you and thank you! He’s awesome!
Defitely 5 stars. All the theory and practice you need to survive in heavy Ocean. Highly recommended
I dived at the west shore, electric shore; and it was my best experience in my life! I did two dives, with seeing two big turtles at the first, and seeing a huge shark on my second. Carlos was so kind all the way through. Anybody visiting Hawaii should try!
I spent two days with Hawaii Eco Divers; the first was with Carlos - a divemaster trained by Hawaii Eco Divers - where we visited Sea Tiger wreck and Secrets Reef. Sea Tiger was a great deep, pretty deep (Advanced divers only) but we saw eagle rays, two huge resident white tip reef sharks and frog fish, as well as being able to penetrate the wreck. On the second dive at Secrets Reef, we saw a variety of fish endemic to Hawaii and a sleeping sea turtle. Carlos was an attentive and friendly guide - giving us a clear briefing about the dives, what route we were doing emergency procedures etc - with a good sense of humour. Myself and the other diver did feel a little rushed underwater, which I have discussed with Ricardo, owner of Hawaii Eco Divers. Ricardo was open to hearing my feedback and generously offered a solution that I was happy with.
On the second day, I went out with Ricardo to do a two-tank shore dive from Electric Beach with a larger group of divers (no more than 5 or 6). Ricardo gave an in depth briefing with clear instructions on how to use the BCD and regulators, clear safety briefing and a very thorough, informative and interesting discussion on the fish we would see on the dive, including behavioural tendencies and breeding habits. Once we got in the water, Ricardo led us out to the pipes at Electric Beach where we got to see the fish play in the mouth of the pipe: swimming up close to the mouth of the pipe before being projected back out into the water. Ricardo really looked after us, keeping a close eye on the group in relatively strong currents and leading us to see some cool spots on the reef.
I would highly recommend Hawaii Eco Divers. I love their commitment to and passion for protecting our oceans. They lead small, intimate groups of divers with friendly enthusiasm and will make sure you get the most out of your trip in Oahu. Thank you again Ricardo and Carlos! Happy Diving and Mahalo!
Had an awesome day of diving with Ricardo. He knows the reef by heart and immediately led us to the the best spots on the reef. There were tons of turtles and we even got to see a sleepy little white tip reef shark under one of the ledges. As a marine biologist, I have gone on hundreds of dives, and this was definitely one to remember! I highly recommend any tours with Ricardo!
