While I have mainly go here for body surfing there are also things to do when the surf is not up. A fun jumping rock and excellent photography lookouts. If it's the summer it can be an excellent family beach, in the winter the waves can become huge(do not underestimate the ocean) all in all it is one of my favorite places on oahu

This is a very nice bay hang out at . It’s not that crowded and you can find a great spot to lay on the beach very easily.

This is my favorite beach on Oahu. Period. The whole bay and the green, lush valley behind looks like a paradise. But from November until March the ocean can get pretty rough there. That of course depends on the swell so even in a winter you can have mellow waters perfect for swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking. So just remember - when in doubt, do't go out :)

If you have the chance drive the highway along the North Shore. The scenery is totally different than the beach in Waikiki. A stop in Waimea Bay will certainly be worth your while.

My wife and I actually were on a shark dive and decided to go to Waimea Falls and Waimea Bay while we were on the North Shore. After a short Uber ride we arrived at the falls. Then we walked from the falls to Waimea Bay. The beach and water were so beautiful it reminded me of pictures you only see in magazines. While you are there definitely jump off the rock.

The shorebreak is know to paralyze or kill inexperienced waders and body surfing neophytes. Lifeguards on duty tell the throngs to stay out of the water, and they allow only locals with swimming fins to negotiate the dangerous shorebreak and strong undertow which eats tourists for lunch.

Amazing waves but be careful, they can be dangerous at times. We saw 15- 20 foot breaks at the shore line. Very impressive but be careful.

We had seen this beach as we drove by when we first arrived. Waited until early morning on a weekday because it is a popular spot for locals. There is a rock where people were diving and the water was great for SUP and body surfing! There are showers to rinse off after and bathrooms for changing.

Bay far one of the most majestic places on the island. I love stopping by to take in the calm waters in the summer and big waves in the winter. Its a beautiful cove and home to many Big Wave Invitationals. Make sure to swing by the Waimea Valley Farmers Market on Thursday nites across the Road. Both are a treat!
