Laniakea beach (aka Turtle beach) is where the big turtles come to bask in the sun. There is always someone (each time I'm there at least) to protect the turtles from over curious tourists and over zealous photographers. They place a bright colored rope at a radius of about 10' from the resting turtle, along with placards in the main languages, to protect it. Lumbering lummoxes on land but, oh, my what grace in the water. Long live the honu!!
