“stop and get your picnic here before heading for the north shore”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

i love to stop here on the way to the other side of the island from honolulu. the manapua is great. so many kinds and the chinese take out is good, too. they could improve on the jaw breaking almond cookies and serve hot tea, but other than that, i look forward to picking something up whenever i pass by. pull a number when you enter so you won't get passed up on ordering. you can eat there but there's no atmosphere. it's more fun to take it to the park nearby or to the beach.

“Good, inexpensive food.”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Huge lunch plates, enough to feed 3 persons. The dizzying array of dishes to choose from are commendable becaust there is someting for everyone. Food is hearty, tasty & a little bit greasy. Dim sum selections are limited but very good.

“LOTS of tasty food...and Manapua”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

The thing I like most about this place is how fresh the "hot table"food always is. If the food is fresh it means that alot of people are eating there. The wait is usually 10 deep, but it moves quickly. The prices are great for the amount of food that they give. One plate can feed two people. I've tried every noodle variation and have never been disappointed. Fried udon is my fave. They have over 20 selections daily to satisfy any palate, and many types of manapua and dim sum. Did I mention the portions are huge? They dont scrimp here.

“Awesome grinds!”
Reviewed April 25, 2012

Their plates are pricey, but it feeds four people! Their choices have gotten better and they have a good variety of food. Love their sweet sour fish and long bean with pork. Their Managua isn't bad either.

“There are 25 people in line in front of you for a reason”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

A void looking strip of stores was all I saw when I drove by. We decided to look at menus after parking. I looked through the window and saw 25 people standing in front of the counter. I knew this was the place to go. We spent $40 for our family and could have spent $25 and been full. It is noisy, busy, crazy...... fantastic. Four kinds of fried rice, five kinds of noodles, I wish I could have tried everything. I really wanted to have a manapua but didn't have room on my plate or waistline. We sat and ate and never saw less than 25 people waiting in line. Yes, it is worth it. One of the best meals in 10 days of eating out.
