“OMG Run away!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

I hate to say this but this was one of the worst places I have ever been to. The buffet looked fine but Looks can be deceiving. They had halved lobsters out and they were extremely chewy and tasted like garbage. Soggy tempura shrimp. Tempura vegetable that were awful. Crab legs that were way overcooked. We special ordered the butterfish and that was good. While at the table, we were entertained by a rodent running back and forth in the kitchen entrance. Yuck! A walk around the food service bars showed that the floor had not been cleaned. Like, ever! Old crusted on food and debris all hidden behind the vinyl that shrouded the bars. The carpet...oh.... I felt so dirty when I left the place, yet so happy to be outside! Never, ever again. Sorry.

“Awesome”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Food was wonderful and service impeccable. This restaurant employs persons with disabilities and I spoke with someone who told me that the managers have been extremely accommodating to him with regards to his functional limitations due to his impairment. I must applaud employers with such compassion.

“NO CLASS ... NO COMMON SENSE ... IGNORANT ...”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Went to a family gathering & when we finally got our seating, the Manager said very loud " Why didn't you tell us that you have an handicap ? "

To everyone who has family who served in Iraq, how would you react ?

The perosn who hired this manager should be ashamed not the customer that is walking in with a cane.

“Food is OK, but ambiance is going downhill”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

One year and a couple of visits later, I'm afraid I need to take my rating down a notch to 3 of 5. I still like the selection and flavor of the food, and especially the various sauces for dressing, dipping, etc. Service was friendly and prompt. It's a very good value, especially when using coupons found online or in the newspaper. But management clearly no longer cares about the ambiance or it wouldn't overlook about everything it possibly could in that area. Grubby-looking napkin dispensers, etc.

The worst is the six-foot-wide opening to the kitchen everyone has to walk past en route to the buffet. It's not a pretty food prep area but far more offensive is the foul smell emanating from the garbage cans placed near the opening. Why on earth wouldn't they put up a curtain and keep the garbage away from the dining area?

Because it would cost so little to fix all of those problems, you have no choice but to conclude that those in charge just don't care about whether customers have an enjoyable dining environment. I will still eat there with those who appreciate the food and are willing to overlook the accumulating problems. But this used to be one of my favorite places to take visitors and introduce them to Japanese cuisine. I just don't see that happening any more.
