“Ramen is not Pho or Saimin”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

A chain restaurant Ezogiku specialized in Ramen, especially Sapporo Ramen, based on the northern city in Japan. For those not familiar with Ramen, it is noodle dish in thick soup with vegetable and pork toppings but there are many varieties. Basically there are three types of soup base: Shoyu (Soy Sauce), Shio (Salt), Miso (Soy Bean Sauce). You can have Gyoza or fried rice as side dish (again more carbs). Just don't be misled with Salt .. it isn't more salty. All of them are extremely salty. Ezogiku states their food is MSG free. I believe that. But still lots of sodium. But if you like Ramen like us, we always make our pilgrimage here. We have eaten Ramen in Japan, Washington State, California, Canada and even Paris, France. Ezogiku Ramen is one of our favorites. There are two other restaurants in Waikiki and one more in University area Oahu.
Drive about a mile east of Pearlridge Shopping Center and you will be at this strip mall. Parking is pretty bad during lunch hour.

“Much Better Than I Remember It”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

The last time we ate here was about 9 months ago. I remember it as a ramen stop. To my surprise, they offer "specials". I tried "Lani's Special"; includes sesame chicken and curry rice (~$8.00). One word: delicious! The chicken was boneless, cooked perfectly without a heavy dough, curry was not oily or too spicy. I can't wait to try it again.

“A real treat”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

Ate here with extended family and every one of us loved the food and left very full! The restaurant is small, but makes up for any inconvenience with outstanding service and good food. All at a great price.
