We were torn between giving this take out Italian restaurant an "Average" or "Very good" rating. If there were an option for "good", we would have chosen that.
The good: large portions, tasty food, decent prices, quick service. The ok: our Chicken Parmigiana didn't have a lot of sauce on it, we don't like our pasta smothered, but it looked like they didn't have enough marinara sauce, the saltimbocca had a little too much wine - it overpowered the rest of the dish and the pasta was a little over done (and not freshly cooked).
Dinners are approximately $10 per plate which is a pretty good price for the amount of food you get. We got the Chicken Parmigiana and the Chicken Saltimbocca and it could have easily served 3 people (woo hoo!) Saltimbocca is usually made with prosciutto, but we're pretty sure ours had a piece of ham on it. The marinara was good, but not as tasty as Island Subs and Burgers' marinara. Because they didn't put a whole lot of sauce, the dish actually was a bit dry. The saltimbocca sauce was pretty good even though it was a bit thick compared to the ones served at Paesano's, Assaggio's and Verbano's. Still a good deal though.
If you want something that tastes a bit better, dish out the extra $6 per plate for one of the other three restaurants listed above....but if you're look for quantity and pretty good taste, JP Serrato's is great.
There are a lot of choices on the menu and if we're in the area, we would order from here again. We wouldn't make a special trip out there though.
There are tables and chairs in the restaurant, but it almost looks like tables in an L&L restaurant...so very casual.
The service was excellent, the cashier who took our order didn't mind describing dishes to us over the phone and making recommendations.
