“Rich Italian food in Aiea”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

August 2012, frequent diner to this location, have eaten here for several years, favorite of my 11 yr. old son. Better food and service when compared with Kaimuki and King Street locations. No reservations needed for parties of 4 or less, they have always had a table available. Wine and bar service available. Ample Pearl Ridge mall parking. Better food and less hectic than Bravo's which is also at Pearl Ridge mall.

“Good Italian food selection, good service, reasonably priced.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

We visited Verbano's on a Friday night. It was less than a third full, which was unexpected since we've dined here a year before and it was packed. Verbano's is a quiet restaurant with low lighting and tablecloths. So, it comes across as a romantic dinner spot. Our party of four had four separate entrees, and each of them was very good. The selection of entrees is pretty broad. The bread was also great, and they kept it coming. The service was attentive and got things right. The desserts were also excellent. With five drinks, four entrees, four desserts and tip, the total was less than $35/head. All-in-all, it was a great value for good food and a very pleasant atmosphere. So, why was the place so empty? I couldn't see any reason why, unless it just a diminished preference for Italian fare. Chili's, across the street, had a line out the door. I've eaten there and felt that I didn't get anywhere near the value received at Verbano's. But, I prefer a quiet, cozy place with tablecloths. Verbano's is just as good as it was the last time.

“Seafood Pasta Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

i've been to this restaurant three times now, and each time I've been impressed. But the other night I ordered the Seafood Past and it was heavenly! The rich tomato sauce coated each spaghettini noodle and the generous servings of shrimp, scallops and squid were all perfectly cooked. The seasoning was also perfect; not too much garlic (which some restaurants use to cover a host of sins.)

The service here has always been attentive and meticulous. The wine list is serviceable and very fairly priced. I had a nice glass of Sangiovese at what I consider to be a bargain. The salads are excellent; the Caesar salad's dressing is quite good and they'll even top it with some whole anchovies if you ask.

The environment at Verbano is nice-- the tables aren't too close together, there are white linen tablecloths, good Italian music, soft lighting. What's not to like?

This restaurant is hidden away, so you'll have to look hard for it, but if you can find Denny's at Pearlridge, it's right next door. If you can find Chili's at Pearlridge, it's right across the street. In both cases, you will be doing yourself a huge favor by dining at Verbano.

If you are a fan if Italian, this is one of the best places to go. The escargot is to die for. I dip the freash baked bread into the garlic butter mixture even after all the escargot is gone. My 10 year old son even ate it! My favorite is the anchovies chicken olio. Most entrees are in the $15 to $20 range. I do, however, believe that the food is worth the price. There are cheaper Italian restaurants, but I'd rather pay more for the quality of dishes that Verbano produces. The atmosphere is sofisticated and refined and the level of service is great. For an even better Verbano experience, you may want to try one of the two Verbano's located in town.
