“16th trip to Honolulu and this is far the best place to stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2011

I was ordered by the Doctor back home in Australia to go away and de-stress!. We read the reviews and decided to stay in a B &B instead of a hotel. The best choice we ever made. The couple are so friendly and helpful. The pool was divine and the scenery fantastic. The "apartment" was fully equipped, and even had nail polish remover! A bookshelf stocked with great books for the avid reader and a huge flat screen TV. We made good use of the cupboard with games. Cards and Yahtzee filled our late evenings.. The bed was soooooo comfortable. We came home in the evening and the owners had turned on a lamp and the air conditioning and fan for us. We were spoiled rotten. It was the most relaxing time we have ever spent on a holiday. No people walking up and down the corridors, no lifts opening and closing, no time to get up to have breakfast, no people in the pool or poolside..bliss...Going back in 2013 and will definitely be staying there again...

We love The Rainbow Inn! It's peaceful and beautiful and the private pool is really special.
The owners spoil you without being in your face. Very discreet. The view is stunning and the weather was wonderful (even with the tsunami). Can truly relax there. Highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is centrally located between Waikiki and the North Shore (or Schofield Barracks where our daughter and family are stationed in the Army and who we came to Oahu to see). It is very clean, very private, and quiet, and the hosts are accomodating and anticipate your every need. The view is of Pearl Harbor and it was fun to watch the ships come in and out. Bring binoculars, though, because you'll want to be able to see the harbor activity better. The pool is a great place to jump into after a walk uphill from the Mall. This is an all around excellent choice of accomodations on Oahu.

We came to Ohua to visit our son who is stationed in Pearl Harbor. The Rainbow Inn was the perfect place to hang our hats and drop our flip flops. The location, view, amenities, pool, space, and surroundings (just to name a few) were all awesome.
The decor is somewhat outdated but who cares as long as it is clean, neat and tidy. (Terri even changes out the beautiful Hawian quilted comforters)
Terri and Mike are nice people and I would definitely recommend the Rainbow Inn :o)
(did I mention that we are particular about where we stay)

The welcome from Terri & Mike was great after traveling 2 days from England, and you couldn't ask for more hospitality and thoughtfulness. Beach towels, snorkling gear and almost anything you might need are available for use. As many others have said, the view over Pearl Harbor is stunning, and since there's only one unit, the pool is private. It's quiet, and the owners strive not to interfere with your space. I was a little apprehensive that we might have to run the wall A/C all night, but the fans provided plenty of cooling.
We consider Rainbow Inn more like staying at a good friend's cottage than in a "typical" B&B. We were given a good starter supply of breakfast items, i.e., coffee, cereal, youghurt, fruit, milk, etc., and if you want a bigger breakfast or something more exotic, you'll need to buy it yourself or go out.

Our stay here was wonderful. My husband and I stayed here for a week while visiting my brother and his family who lived 2 minutes away. It was so nice to be away from all the tourist areas and have a quiet place to relax to when we came "home" to rest up for the next days adventures. Anything you need they will try to provide. This is a wonderful place for a couples getaway. Many dining and shopping options are in the area. Downtown Honolulu is only 15 minutes away with light traffic (can be much longer if traffic is really bad).

My wife and I booked the Rainbow Inn via the internat as part of our trip of a lifetime to Hawaii and we were not disappointed. Our host Terri & Mike made us feel very welcome and were a very good source for information for the surrounding area and generally for the island of Oahu.

Rainbow Inn is situated in a prime location on the hillside in Aeia overlooking Pearl Harbour, and yes you can see the Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri from the apartment. The sunsets are spectacular as are the rainbows, hence the name. In addition it is located in a very quiet and secluded location has every concievable extra you may need, right down to beach and snorkeling equipment and a BBQ. Inside the apartment is spacious with all the facilities you would expect, it also provides many you would have to buy if you were in a timeshare or resort hotel. e.g. foil, cling film, herbs etc.

Our only small critisism would be that we could not use the lovely swimming pool because the water was to cold for us to enter it.

All in all a magnificent find in a spectaular location and extremely good value for money. We would recommend this apartment to others.
