Had a mahi mahi dinner here. The fish was super fresh, perfectly grilled and was a surprisingly large portion. The accompaniments of macaroni salad and a green lettuce salad were tasty and fresk. In fact, the mac salad may have been the best I ever ate...for mac salad, that is. This restaurant was the most inviting and highly acclaimed eatery on the island. It was the only place we would be pleased to return to. With an excellent value and quality food, it's worth the extra ten minute drive uphill from the restaurants in the town of Kaunakakai.

This restaurant is rated as one of Molokai's best eateries by several guidebooks. Our experience didn't really measure up. We went for both lunch and dinner and would rate it mediocre in every way. Limited menu, fair food, not really very clean, and waitress rather sullen and slow. I get that that it's Moliakai time and they don't rush but she hardly moved!

Well if you don't mind a lot of fat and starch with your local colour, eat here. When you encounter a menu that gives French Fries and Macaroni as its two sides (no substitutes, like perhaps a salad?) that should get some amber lights flashing. My friend ordered the special, fried chicken. It came with a lot of batter and was swimming in a kind of poutine gravy. My grilled fish was overdone and very dry. I went for macaroni over the fries but really missed the veggies, which were non existent. Not very healthy food but a real local flavour. We couldn't figure out why all the locals recommended it over the Paddler, which we enjoyed far more. Perhaps it was because they serve huge portions? One other plus was the fact that you can bring your own bottle.

Tied for the best dinner with Paddler's Inn. Had a fantastic bbq rib dinner with salad and baked potato. Portions were huge. Service ok. Water tasted a bit of dish soap as did the ice tea. No booze so bring your own bottle if desired. Priced about normal for Molokai.
