The half day trip to Molokini was excellent. Capt. John and the rest of the crew were professional, entertaining, and safety oriented. The food was plentiful and tasty. We had over 2 hours of snorkel time in this magical place with 125' underwater visibility. The stop at "turtle universe" on the way back was cool, too. Highly recommend this trip if you visit Maui.

One of our best experience in Maui.

The crew seemed to be experienced in handling amateur and non swimmers. we had an instruction session prior to snuba and snorkeling activities which was very helpful.
They had all the accessories including PRESCRIPTION SNORKEL MASK (for near sighted folks) which helped me view underwater clearly. Boogie boards are available for amateur swimmers to hold on to while viewing under water. inflatable tubes are available for non swimmers to lie face first and float in the ocean. During snorkeling activity, a crew member sits atop a boogie board in the water and watches over the snorkelers. if you are uncomfortable, you can snorkel around his vicinity until you get more comfortable.
MY wife did Snuba with the instructor Jamie. He was very patient and cleared all her concerns which made her feel comfortable being a first timer and she really enjoyed the activity.
Underwater camera is available for rent; Videos and pics of our activities were captured thoroughly. wet suit is available for rent as well.
We had a good breakfast and lunch on board. Lunch was vegetarian friendly. Duration of the activity is close to 5 hours- a 10 mile ride into the ocean, 2 hours of snorkeling activity and back to the slip.
The captain(GO BEARS!) was extremely funny and stopped at various points during the trip to spot whales and turtles. overall, extremely satisfied and want to do this again! Four winds crew rocks!

Actually, my wife and I have never taken any other boat to go snorkeling on Molokini because we've been so pleased with the Four Winds II, so when I say the Four Winds II is the best it's because of comments I've heard from other people who have taken the cruise. I heard one of them say he's taken lots of trips to Molokini with different boats and Four Winds II is heads and tails better. How could this be? Aren't they all more or less the same? Not really. For one thing, the Four Winds II is not a huge boat, so you never feel you're in a crowd. For another, where most cruises serve cold cuts for lunch, the Four Winds has several barbecue grills for fresh-cooked burgers, hot dogs, chicken, veggie burgers, and pulled pork. Also, even if you don't want to snorkel, you can be shielded from the sun by a top deck sunshade. But more than anything, the Four Winds has Captain Dan, who is so experienced, so personable and so good with children that everyone feels as if they have received lots of individual attention. Do yourself a favor if you're planning a snorkel cruise. Take this boat.

We went on the 4 winds boat Dec 5, 2013. We decided to go on the afternoon snorkel trip from 1:30 to 5:00. It was me, my husband and our two boys, 4 and 2.5 years. The experience was great. The kids enjoyed the boat ride. My 4 year old loved snorkelling and he especially liked the little plastic "boat" he could lie on and float in the ocean. My 2.5 year old went in the ocean for 10 mins and wanted to go back on the boat because he was cold. Instead he viewed the fish from the little room below which had the glass bottom. We purchased the optional lunch for $8 each (2.5 year old was free)...and we are glad we did. Burgers were great and the boys enjoyed their hotdogs and chips. They also had chicken, veggie burgers and pulled pork on the BBQ. The afternoon snorkel trip was great and the 3.5 hours was perfect with little kids.

If you are taking this trip to see lots of fish, I would suggest you save your money and see them by snorkeling the local beaches where the fish are much more plentiful. We did have the pleasure of seeing a whale (a bit early for them) and the boat Captain gave us lots of time to take pictures and enjoy the whale. We went out on a day when the water was rough and many on the boat were seasick. The crew was extremely helpful and supportive (a real plus in their favor). The pulled pork sandwiches were yummy and they also served chicken breasts that cooked on the boat's BBQ as we traveled.
