I loved my stay at the Bungalow. I went with a really open mind because I had read some of the not so favourable reviews and was a little concerned. I found the staff and fellow travellers to be very helpful. The house keeping staff was plentiful and thorough. Not all the tours were for me so I found the local transit to be pretty good for getting around to the main spots. Just ask someone and they will be more than willing to share information. As for the location, I understand the Bungalow has been there for years and that happens to be the neighbourhood. I think if you remember that it is someone's home, regardless of how rough around the edges it is, and treat it and the people with respect, combined with a little bit of safety smarts, there shouldn't be any problems. Finally, I went with the attitude that you get what you pay for, and I was looking for something casual and laid back, which is exactly what I got. You are on a holiday - don't sweat the small stuff!
