Owner description: Set in the gentle hillsides of "Up-Country" Maui, Pukalani Country Club overlooks the Pacific Ocean and offers breath-taking panoranic views of the Valley Isle of Maui. The Pukalani Country Club is nestled at the 1,100 foot elevation level of world famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name in Hawaiian means "House of the Rising Sun" and is appropriately reflected as the golf course's logo. Pukalani's 18 holes were designed by golf course architect Bob Baldock who designed more than 69 public and private golf courses throughout the United States. The Pukalani Country Club's greenery covers nearly 160 acres. Built in 1980, the course is 6,962 yards long from the championship tees, plays to a par 72, and features 19 greens in its 18-hole layout! On hole #3, golfers may choose a tough iron shot across a ravine and into the wind for one green, or a challenging chip shot straight down to a well-trapped green several hundred feet below into the ravine. No other golf course in Hawaii can compare or offer you this unique setting and challenge of our hole #3. "Pukalani" which in Hawaiian means "Entrance to Heaven" certainly describes Pukalani Country Club!

Pukalani CC is a friendly, affordable course in the Upcountry area of Maui. The staff from the outside service to pro shop to grill made it a great day. The course was in great shape and the views rival courses charging two to three times the green fees.I heartily reccommend it!

This golf course is very popular with the local Maui golfers .... and for good reason! The course is on the side of the volcano and has bi-costal views of Maui! Course conditions are that of a mid-level city course on the mainland - not manicured but still in great condition to play. Cost is very affordable for visitors and the views are amazing - easily as beautiful as any other course on Maui!

Pukalani Country Club is a great find and worth the drive upcountry. Prices are very reasonable and the course is very enjoyable. Wide open fairways make it fun. Views are amazing.

My wife and I played this course last week. We've played it before a few times over the years. Consistently this course deserves high ratings. The greens putt true and are in good condition. Traps and fairways are maintained well. Temps at this course are cool (75 to 80) because it is up country (on the road to Haleakala) yet only 15 to 20 minutes from Kahalui Costco/Airport area.

We've gone to Maui more than 30 times and usually play golf on every trip. The rate for green fees at Pukalani CC makes it the best value on Maui. The employees are exceptionally pleasant.

I played this course in June of 2013. It's a nice course, a little short, so played from the back tees. The views on this course are very nice, but not as nice as many of the other courses on Maui. That said, this course is half the cost of most courses and a quarter of the cost of Kapalua.

The facilities leave something to be desired, but it sounds like there was damage due to a fire or storm. You can get hot food made fresh and a drink, which is really the important thing.

Wind. There's a lot of wind through the valley in Maui. That's just the way it is. A lot of that wind finds Pukalani. The day I went is was REALLY windy. Think 45 mph with gusts. That made the round incredibly challenging, but it was still fun and still golf in Hawaii.

Will I go back? Absolutely. It's a good value, the views are nice and the course is decent.
