“Excellent food, breath taking location, great atmosphere and superb wait staff!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We have been going to Mama's every visit to Maui. You can not beat the meal they will prepare for you. The fish entrees list the person who caught the selection and where. Your wait staff will explain how your selection is prepared. Every meal that I have had has been fresh, delightefully prepared, and paired with a perfect side of fresh local vegetables.

If you have a special occasion to celebrate, you would be remiss in not celebrating at Mama's.

“Family Dinner was wonderful”
Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

We had heard that Mama's Fish House was a great experience. We drove 30 minutes from Kihei to have dinner. Our 6:45 pm reservation was seated at 7:15 pm. We got a booth that was furthest from the windows and the sunset, but it actual worked pretty well for us. Every table was full and another seating was coming after us. We had cocktails and our 16 and 15 year had virgin cocktail ($15 and $9). We did not have appies, but the plentful home made bread was enough. My kids frankly do not like fish, but at Mama's they loved it and finished their entire meal of Ahi and Mauimaui. Coffee and dessert lead to at $270 bill. We all thought the servers were excellent, spend a moment to read the entire menu, there are nice stories of supporting local fisherman and farmers.

“How fresh was the fish ? Menu Lists Name of Fisherman and Boat”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

To say that you should drain your "nest egg" to pay for a meal here is arguably only moderately and exaggeration. When the Menu changes everyday, listing the Fisherman and Boat who caught your dinner TODAY, I guess this should be reflected in the price. And, believe me it is ! Dinner for 2, expect to pay over $200. But, for that, you are dining at the finest seafood restaurant on Maui. You MUST call for a reservation well in advance. If you decide today you want a dinner reservation for tonight, listen for the belly laughter from anyone who overhears you. This place is a must experience and reservations are tight. Definitely try to get there at sunset too. If you're going to drop serious dough, you might as well get the finest sunset pics possible, right. I forget exactly the name of the fish I had. It was some unusual local fish. My wife had some Mahi Mahi presentation. Both were works of art I felt guilty eating because it looked so good. The cocktail s are unusual too and of course more expensive. If this is a once or twice in a lifetime experience, go for the best on Maui ! There is free Valet parking (of course you'll tip here).

“Dinner in Hawaiian Time”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful dinner and atmosphere! Service was excellent as was the menu. My wife and I had a difficult time deciding what to order. The Opakapaka was the best we have ever had. This is really great location right on the water and very traditional Hawaiian. Would highly recommend!

“BEST MEAL !”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We ate at Mama's for lunch and dinner. If you can sit at the window beach front seating I highly recommend it. Also the booth seating facing the ocean are beautiful as well. Really there is no bad seat in the house as the décor is beautiful, old school Hawaiian. My husband and I love the menu and how they share who actually caught the fish and where it was caught. The food is fresh, very tasty and presented beautifully. The staff is efficient and friendly. They offer poppy bread and small taste of the soup which were both delicious. This is the place that locals go to celebrate. It is pricey but very worth it. It never disappoints.
