My bf and I stopped here on our way back from making the drive through Hana and seven pools, it was about 8 p.m., we were tired and super hungry.
We looked at the menu and looked around to see what people were eating and we ordered the mahi mahi and ono burger w fries, we didn't expect much but my god!
it didn't seem like much, a piece of fish between buns and cabbage and shredded cheese with some sauce on it so we thought, eh, it's gonna be just ok. One bite and we were silenced, one word: Ono! the fish is so damn fresh and juicy its impossible not to like it, the burger just works, my bf liked the mahi mahi more than the ono though. We finished the burgers super fast and went on to order mahi tacos and those were delicious as well.
We were staying in Kaanapali and seriously we had a hard time finding good fresh food, mostly everything in the Lahaina area is ridiculously overpriced and honestly mediocre food.
On the last day of our trip we drove from Kaanapali all the way to Paia for dinner to have their food again, that's how good and not to mention how good the prices are compared to the tourist traps around Lahaina.
This time my bf ordered the mahi fish and chips and I had the mahi dinner plate sauteed in white wine, butter with lemon garlic and pepper over a bed of cabbage and potatoes and a chicken quesadilla, all this with a local draft beer was under 54 bucks! the only thing we though was just ok was the quesadilla, so stick with the fish specialties.
We were stuffed, happy and satisfied, this is the place to get fresh fish, good food in a super local joint, loved it!
The place is small with long bench like tables that you share with other people, a very relaxed laid back place.
