“Fresh fish!”
Reviewed September 15, 2011

My bf and I stopped here on our way back from making the drive through Hana and seven pools, it was about 8 p.m., we were tired and super hungry.
We looked at the menu and looked around to see what people were eating and we ordered the mahi mahi and ono burger w fries, we didn't expect much but my god!
it didn't seem like much, a piece of fish between buns and cabbage and shredded cheese with some sauce on it so we thought, eh, it's gonna be just ok. One bite and we were silenced, one word: Ono! the fish is so damn fresh and juicy its impossible not to like it, the burger just works, my bf liked the mahi mahi more than the ono though. We finished the burgers super fast and went on to order mahi tacos and those were delicious as well.
We were staying in Kaanapali and seriously we had a hard time finding good fresh food, mostly everything in the Lahaina area is ridiculously overpriced and honestly mediocre food.
On the last day of our trip we drove from Kaanapali all the way to Paia for dinner to have their food again, that's how good and not to mention how good the prices are compared to the tourist traps around Lahaina.
This time my bf ordered the mahi fish and chips and I had the mahi dinner plate sauteed in white wine, butter with lemon garlic and pepper over a bed of cabbage and potatoes and a chicken quesadilla, all this with a local draft beer was under 54 bucks! the only thing we though was just ok was the quesadilla, so stick with the fish specialties.
We were stuffed, happy and satisfied, this is the place to get fresh fish, good food in a super local joint, loved it!

The place is small with long bench like tables that you share with other people, a very relaxed laid back place.

“Great Mahi Mahi”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

We had Mahi Mahi Burgers and Mahi Mahi Tacos. The food was excellent. Atmosphere very relaxed like a backyard barbecue, and the price was unbeatable. Its order at the counter and then pick it up. Very crowded but worth it.

“outstanding value for money. Superb fish.”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

We dined on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Regular visitors to the restaurant recommended the ONO burger so we duly ordered two. Oh my goodness! -they were delicious. The onion rings were fantastic too.
Do not judge this establishment from the outside. The bench seating ensures that the floor of the restaurant can easily be cleaned and maintained as the benches are on hinges. The restaurant was clean, did not smell of fish!! and the staff were very friendly.
We will definitely eat there again.

“Amazing fish”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

We were in Maui for 10 days and ate here about six times. The fish is amazingly fresh and delicious. Even if you are not staying near the North Shore, the food is worth the drive. Not to be missed!

“Nice lunch option in Paia”
Reviewed September 9, 2011

It's not as upmarket or overpriced as Mama's Fish House up the road, but its worth a stop. You can also kill some time after your morning flight arrives and before you can check in to your hotel. You order from the counter, and It has communal seating at long tables, but don't sweat it as the turnover is brisk and everyone is pleasent for the most part. Most recently we had an Ono burger with onion rings and the Mahi Mahi plate. Both were good quality with generous portions. The menu is varied with lots of choices, but is heavy on fish. Don't expect much on service or personal attention....they do a big buisness. The bill was somewhere in the low 40.00USD range. If you are in the neighborhood, give it a try.
