Loved that this place is open at 7:00 a.m. for all of us eager beavers wanting to get an early start on the road to Hana. We arrived about 8:15 and ordered 2 Hana Boxed Lunches. Hubby ordered the BIG KAHUNA ($8.95) with roast beef, lettuce, red onion, pepper jack cheese, & horseradish mayo (hubby LOVED the horseradish mayo). I ordered THE SHAKA (also $8.95) with roasted turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, provolone, & basil mayo (yummy). The boxed lunch comes with chips and a cookie. Sandwiches were good, but a little dry. More mayo would be better since these sandwiches sit for several hours before consumption. Cookie was nothing special. We ate these at a picnic table in the Garden of Eden Botanical Gardens during a rain shower while looking out to the ocean and Keopuka Rock. Having a beautiful view always enhances the dining experience. Would recommend Hana Bay Picnic Co. for all you need to start the drive to Hana. Just ask for extra mayo on your sandwiches.

Once you get on the road to Hana there are very few places to buy an actual meal. That's where the Hana Bay Picnic Co. comes in. Stop by on your way to Hana to order a picnic to go..they even offer insulated bags to keep everything cool and tasty. We ordered the crab salad sandwiches, they came with chips and a cookie. Awesome! Drinks were also available for purchase. While we waited for our picnic to be prepared the girls suggested that we visit the Sand and Sea gift shop next door. We were thrilled to find so many gifts for the folks back home. Made on Maui and great low prices.

This is the right spot to stop for a sack lunch for the Road to Hana! Got a bagged lunch with a sandwich, chips and a cookie for the road. The ladies working there were nice and made sure we had all that we needed before we headed out. They even made sure we'd gone to the bathroom first. I don't normally like "sub" sandwiches, but the French bread was damn tasty and all was very filling when we made a stop to eat. I was really impressed. Stop here before you head out - you won't be disappointed!

We started our day long drive on the Road to Hana here. We picked up some sandwiches, drinks and a cooler bag for a picnic later. Also picked up the book Maui Revealed and it was a worthwhile purchase.

We had a picnic at the black sand beach and the food was pretty good. I recommend this place as a start to anyone making the Road to Hana drive. There are food choices along the route if you miss this stop though.

We bought 2 sandwiches there. $9 each and nothing fancy. Maybe slightly more food than with a Subway six inch sandwich. If you don't like your sandwich on hard, chewy French baguette bread, you might want to find lunch elsewhere.

So sorry you were not happy with your sandwiches, we strive to make our customers satisfied and value your input. Our sandwiches are slightly more expensive because we use organic, locally grown produce. We apologise if the bread was not up to your expectations and will gladly remedy that on your next visit.
