“Time Warp”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

We almost missed this place for its shabby exterior. Luckily it was the only place open on a rainy Sunday morning and what a surprise when we walked through the front door--it's like a health food version of Zabar's in Manhattan, or the Park Slope Food Coop in Brooklyn. Yeah, the hippy vibe might get old for those of us who lived it, but hey at least they are keeping the 60's alive in spirit anyway. Go hungry, buy stuff to take out and have yourself a great picnic.

I could get lost in Mana Foods. It looks deceptively small on the outside but once you walk inside its clear this is a Natural Food mecca. I went 2 times while on Maui and both trips I spent nearly an hour just wandering the aisles. Great selection and absolutely amazing prices (better than on the mainland). Everyone must stop in and check out this gem!

Rude pushy customers, hygiene-challenged employees. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Makes Whole Foods look sterile by comparison. We heard great things but were greatly disappointed and didn't stay. Ick.

“Loved this market!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2014

From the outside, the market is very nondescript, but it is packed with quite the diversity of groceries and food inside. Similar to a Whole Foods in concept, the market differs in that it has a very local and family-oriented vibe. I was repeatedly surprised at the very reasonable pricing, which is wonderful to see in encouraging people to eat better. We picked up some food to go at the hot/cold bar, which was very good. I also found some nice souvenirs for friends who enjoy interesting snacks and locally-produced jams, honey, etc. Also noted a nice supply of fresh veggies, fruits, and herbs.

“Maui's version of local Whole Foods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

Right off of Baldwin Ave, the front of the store looks like a "dive joint" with one entrance door on the left and and exit door on the ride side of what looks like a very small store front. Enter the entrance door and it's almost like entering the Weasley's family's tent at the Wold Cup Quittich Match. The store isles are narrow but packed with an incredible selection of products and food items. It's like Whole Foods packed into 1/4 the space. Prices are not cheap but on par with Maui prices. This is absolutely the market with the best selection in the Paia area. Kahului has a Whole Foods Market, but if you are in Pa'ia there is no need to drive that far.
