Kuau Inn was just a short drive from the airport and minutes from Paia and Mama's Fish House. The rooms were comfortable and clean, fridge was well-stocked, and innkeepers were knowledgeable and friendly. In addition to the innkeepers, dozens of guidebooks are available on the shelves, so you have lots of help planning your fun in Maui.

I was at the Kuau Inn for four nights in February of 2014. I really enjoyed the friendliness and facilities. The outdoor shower was awesome!! The fresh fruit was wonderful and varied and the muffins, although store bought, were delicious. I would definitely stay there again. I was on the second floor and although there were traffic noises, they didn't really bother me that much.

Room Tip: I liked the room with the TV as I could watch the Olympics early in the morning without disturbing a...

We were only here a short time (came in late afternoon and left first thing in the morning- headed up to the Haleakala Crater). We met the Inn keepers and also the owners...all were very nice. They gave us suggestions on what to check out while we were only on this side of Maui for one day. Would certainly be a place we'd come back too!

I just returned home from a 4 night stay at the Kuau Inn and I can't wait to go back. It was exactly what I was looking - cozy, comfortable, clean, away from the crowds and really reasonable. The stocked kitchen and self-serve breakfast of eggs, fresh fruit, bagels, juice and coffee allowed me to happily be on my own schedule. The inn is a short drive or a 10 minute walk into the cute town of Paia (and Mana Foods market, the Paia Fish Market and Baldwin Beach) or a 5 minute walk up the road to Mama's Fish House. There is a great little swimming hole across the street and the newly opened Kuau Market/Cafe has anything you might need for picnic supplies on the way to Hana.

The Kuau Inn was a great home-away-from-home for anyone looking for a little R & R.

Room Tip: No A/C but fans available on request. Definitely use the outdoor shower for the island vibe.

I met a girl friend in Maui, she was travelling from Signapore and I was coming from Canada. We found this accomodation with a room that had two single beds, perfect for two friends who want to share costs. We needed to cross the kitchen and hallway for access to the bathroom but that was fine. The outdoor Lanai and Wifi made every evening wonderful. Hosts lent us a cooler, boogie boards, even a straw mat for the beach. We also left one behind. Had an entire shelf in a full size fridge for lunch and snacks that we packed daily when we headed out. Paia is a great little town, we were far from everything but have no regrets as with a rented car you can get anywhere quickly.

Room Tip: We had a room on the main floor, it was very quiet mostly. Sometimes when other guest were up early...

We spent two nights at Kuau Inn and enjoyed it. The inn has personality, the building is over 100 years old and has a warm historic charm. Hostess Haley was wonderful! Great location close to Paia, expansive kitchen makes it possible to cook in meals comfortably. Wifi & TV makes for a nice place to hang out when worn out from outdoor activities. Outdoor shower a nice touch. Suggest improved parking setup( guests shouldn't be parking in driveway overnight). Also, be warned: upstairs rooms are very noisy with road traffic from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., so early/late sleepers should avoid these rooms. Unfortunately, not much the inn owners can do about this...

My husband and I stayed here for one night mid January. The house was cosy and welcoming. It's an older home with several rooms. Some rooms are shared bathrooms. There is an outdoor shower. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. You could hear the road from our room but I used the earplugs they give you and it helped. There is no air conditioning but there was a fan. The kitchen has all you need and the fridge is stocked to make your own breakfast.
The lodgings on there own are probably really a 3 star but Ryan, our host, made the experience 4 star. He was personable, gave us good advice for dining and beaches, and was accommodating around our late flight! Thank- you! We also meet the owner who was friendly and informative as well.
I would definitely stay here again.
