While most of Maui is a great place to slow down, this lovely little place is a great place to just sit. Don't expect a large garden, it is small and serene. Mew enjoyed stopping on the way between destinations. It is calm, and quiet.

The perfect place to stop and catch your breath.

Decided to go of the main road and visit the gardens. It is tucked back in and is worth the short drive there. There are plants and other goodies to buy. Our kids had a blast doing the two labyrinths. We ended up staying a lot longer than I thought we would. They had been hit by a flood (they were back up and fully functional) and in the dry river bed people had stacked rocks - the kids all made their own creation before we moved on.

This was one of the highlights of our visit. PLEASE stop in to the Sacred Garden if your in the Makawao area. If you have the opportunity to meet with owner Eve, you will be blown away by her presents. This gal is truly connected with spirt and soul. Eve did a presentation for our group on the labyrinth meaning and significants. Then we each walked the labyrinth, you will be surprised at what shows up in your consciousness as you walk it. Thank you to Eve for making our trip a memorable one and one that will be with us forever. We will be back for sure each time we come to Maui. Thank also for creating a spiritual place that helps people heal and grow. You are a gift in it;s self and a blessing to many. Much love and light to you Eve. Thank you again from the whole group from Australia and myself.

Of course, seeing this place on tripadvisor made us want to go there. However, we went in, saw a little shop with a few things here and there, going out to the garden we saw the labyrinth which we didn't get the point of and then we left. There are so many nicer places in Maui, don't waste it here.

Drive mauka (up-country) from your home or hotel and spend a spiritual time in a special garden near Makawao. Eve, Kathy, Nancy, and Bodhi are the hosts of a magical pocket garden -- like a pocket beach but with plants and spiritual reminders of who you really are in this life.

If you are a visitor from another island or continent, this is a place to sit for a time and meditate on the power of being on Maui. Perhaps a stone, carving, sculpture, or small bit of pottery from a local kiln will find its way into your checked baggage on your return home, It did fir me.

If you are a Maui resident, this is a place where you can connect with plants and spiritual symbols that can make your backyard a place of peace, growth, and joy. Seriously.

If your are a dog, you'll like Bodhi. But he's neutered, so you won't really LOVE him.

I got hugs at the Sacred Gardens, and I'm holding them in my long-term memory.
