This is an adorable, historic home, lovingly restored by the innkeeper, Cherie Attix. In Upcountry Maui, the weather is a little cooler than we're used to in Honolulu, but is a welcome change after driving through the dusty heat of the lower elevations. The Makawao town center is less than a mile away and is full of interesting shops and restaurants.
My room was the Hibiscus and it was just right, the right size, nicely appointed, with its own private entrance. Other rooms that were empty and open were larger and looked even more sumptuous. One had a slipper tub in the bath. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. An abundant breakfast is served at 8 am consisting of healthy fare such as fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, breads, coffee, tea, juice, and more. Innkeeper Cherie is very personable and easygoing.
My only quibble was the shower. It looked a bit patched together, but it was still clean and serviceable. Otherwise, would have rated this 5 stars.
I would definitely return.More
