Very nice place to stay, especially as a solo woman traveler. Never seen a bed and breakfast so well organised, they have lots a of services (they can book you tours, etc.), the place is super dooper clean, very nice ambiance, 2 blocks walking from ocean. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it is not on the water, which would then deserve a full 5 stars, but I am being anal... ;o) Loved it, all the rooms have character, charm, and they all have a hot tub IN each room!!! Lovely staff, feels like family, I would recommend this place for anybody!

Staying here is like spending time with your favorite Aunt – you know the one that spoils you. Tanna is a kick. The whole staff (friends and family) was a joy to be around as well. We felt like our own family reunion for 10 days while meeting new family (guests) daily. Yea we spent days at the beach snorkeling, Lahaina (a quick drive to Front Street, but away from the commotion at night) and exploring. Don’t miss the birds at the Banyan Tree (Front Street) at Sunset. The Guesthouse is in a quiet neighborhood, safe and really well kept, in amongst locals. The sounds of the birds in the morning are such a treat to wake up with. If you must be in a hotel party experience with large pools and kids running everywhere this is not for you. The small saltwater pool was so refreshing after a long day or just sunning on the deck.
All the complimentary extras add up quick when you see how expensive everything is on Maui! Shop at Costco, right by the airport. Tanna supplies all your everyday household needs- sandwich baggies, saran, frozen ice bottles & cooler which double as a refreshing cold drink later in the day; laundry detergent, pool towels, spices and the use of the kitchen, boogie boards and snorkels. Did I mention Tanna could book tours at a discounted rate! We thought the Old Lahaina Luau was well worth the price including an open bar of endless Mai-Tais and traditional Hawaiian foods. Maui Magic out of Ma'alaea Harbor was a great experience too. We saw humpback whales twice in late November. Yes the whales came in early this year and the Spinner Dolphins with their babies swimming under the boat and all around us. Snorkeling at Molokini – Bob was great holding my boogie board for a first time snorkeler and non - swimmer. Jai on the boat is a licensed Snuba teacher and takes an underwater camera of the fish and your family and has a CD waiting before departure. Taking pictures underwater is tricky so it is best left to the professionals. Our last stop was a swim (snorkel) with the turtles. This was an all around fun experience and adventure. We also did Skyline Zipline from Haleakala on the way home from the volcano. A great first time experience. Tanna is a dive master and knows all the connections to get you out on a first dive or perhaps you just need a tip on the best spots.
The highlight of the trip besides the Maui Guesthouse was the hike up to the waterfall after driving the road to Hana (leave early). The waterfall is beautiful, but the trail through the bamboo forest is like no other experience we have ever done. This is the true meaning of not being able to see the forest through the trees (bamboo).

If we make our way back to Maui we’ll be sure to stay again.
Thanks for the good times playing cards and making puzzles!

My husband and I spent some time at the Guest House in November and loved it! Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved the private pool and the spacious deck out front. The location was perfect for walking along the beach, shopping or going out for a fun dinner. The hostess was so helpful, giving us gear for the beach and ideas on what to do. We hope to return someday.

This is my 10th stay at the Guest House, and just that alone should tell you that I love it. I travel solo, and being a single female, find that this is the safest place to stay. I have seen the renovations over the years, and it just gets better and better! There is nothing like waking up to a breakfast of fresh fruit and English muffins, bagels or cereal. Great place to meet others, too, that you would never meet staying at a hotel. Have met folks from Australia, Norway, Germany, Canada, and the good old USA. The addition of a saltwater pool has been wonderful. There is always someone at the Guest House, and they will offer discounted activites, too. The owner is on premises, and the amenties in the rooms are the best--tempurpedic beds, hot tub in the room, dvd player, 42 in flat panel TV's, private bath. It truly feels like home! You can do as much as you want, or as little--and I really like the fact that I can stop at the local store and make my own meals if I so choose. Just have to ask about what things are good to do, if you want to see the sights, or where the best bargains are, or what type of activity is good to do. The Guest House embodies the true aloha spirit! We have had family potlucks, card games, movie nights, co-op puzzles--there is a true sense of what it is like to be welcomed as family here, and I would not trade it for the world.

The Maui Guest House is right next to all the action of Lahaina: resorts, shopping, beaches, restaurants; but is far enough away so that you can retreat to quiet, easily park for free, and avoid being overcharged for everything. The House is lovely, well-appointed, colorful, comfortable, friendly, private, with large rooms with all the comforts of home and more. The snorkeling recommendations and fin lending were particularly considerate. We liked Maui even more than we thought we would after staying at the Maui Guest House.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Maui Guest House in Lahiana. It was an incredible experience, a comfortable, quiet room with our own in-room hot tub, a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. Sitting on the private patio at night was a delight as the fragrance of tropical flowers drifted on the evening breeze. In the morning we were offered fresh tropical fruits, tasty pastries and a bounty of every type of breakfast item you could desire. Our hostess was delightful, entertaining and knowledgeable about activities to do on the island. Each day became a new adventure. The free-to-use snorkel equipment, beach chairs and boogie boards were a welcomed surprise and better quality than ones we previously rented at local shops. The front patio offered several comfortable lounge chairs situated around a clean, pristine pool. We feel we have found our Home-away-from-home on Maui and look forward to returning soon.

Only few blocks away from Front Street in Lahaina, the rooms are beautiful with stained glass windows and is very very clean. The continental breakfast is fabulous with fresh fruit and bread. A deck with a new pool.Very accommodating! To us this is top shelf and we always come back here for our stay! Why stay at a fancy Hotel and spend allot more money and lug your belongings to room via the elevator and tipping the valet every time you come and go?The staff is awesome and will help you with activities available on the island.
