The Maui Guest House is located a few minutes from downtown Lahaina in a run-down suburban neighborhood. The inside of the home is beautifully decorated, with tile murals on the floor and stained glass doors. The kitchen and living areas were huge and well appointed, and the outdoor pool and seating areas were nice. Breakfast included fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, cereal, eggs, toast ... best breakfast at any of the B&Bs! We stayed in the Puka Room, the smallest and cheapest at $79 per night. It was tiny - the double bed took up the whole room, and it didn't have a private bath. But for the price, it was very comfortable. The other rooms were larger and much pricier at $149. The friendly owners provided free boogie boards and snorkel gear. Very close to beaches and the whole west Maui resort scene. Gorgeous home and nice owners, but we didn't care for the neighborhood - we prefer something more rural/secluded.

The Guest House was our first stay at a B&B. We chose this B&B based upon the great reviews from this site and were not disappointed. The location is ideal - very close to downtown Lahaina, close to great snorkeling spots and food. The rooms were very nice - we had a 42" plasma and an extensive (300+) dvds to chose a nightly movie. The hosts were awesome - offered great suggestions on snorkel spots and other tips on restaurants. The breakfast was outstanding - a full table with fruits, pastries, bagels, english muffins, jams, you name it. The only down side was that sometimes the other guests got up very early (6:30am) and were noisy, waking us up. However, even though we're not morning people, we found that getting up early in the day gave us more time to see everything.

My boyfriend and I were only able to stay at the Guest House one night, but we highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again (if we ever get back to Maui)! It's got everything - very friendly staff; really nice, clean rooms (with that special hawaii character but without sacrificing the modern amenities); great location - very close to Lahaina (Maui's nightlife) and the Ka'anapali beaches; and free use of beach supplies (chairs, towels, boogie boards, etc). All rooms have their own hot tub (perfect for that pre-dinner soak after a hike up Haleakala crater) and our room had a 42" flat screen tv. The staff was great, very accommodating - they let us store our luggage before check-in time and directed us to the beach stocked with towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach umbrella. They even offered food and drink to a friend of ours who was just visiting but not a guest. The kitchen is open 24hrs with juices, snacks, fruits, you name it. Other pluses: there's free internet in the common area and an extensive DVD library. Overall, worth every penny!
