We stayed at Aston Kaanapali Shores for 5 nights. We went with my husband's brother and his wife. It was fantastic. Very affordable and the beach front at the hotel was wonderful. Each couple had a ocean view suite and the view was great. I sat and watched the whales from the balcony!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our visit. We have decided to return each January and we will stay here every time. Service was amazing and there is a grocery store just across the street so you can get anything you will need without even getting in the car. In the same shopping center there is a GREAT pizza place and a great coffee shop.

I can't say enough about this place. Location, beach, affordable, clean. It's a no brainer... we will be returning next Jan.

They have 2 pools, one is only 4 feet deep, so that made it nice for the beginner swimmer 4 year old. The local owners were friendly, kind. Very close to the beach. Room 161 was great for us ; it was ocean front and had a grassy yard so the kids could play. The room was nice, not super fancy but we were not looking for super fancy, it was perfect for the family of 4. Nice granite counters, updated appliances. If you are on a honeymoon and looking for higher scale, this might not be your place. Secure parking lot, easy access to the neighboring resort for coffee, better restaurant / lunch.snacks. Had a great time and will be back again.

We were a party of 2 couples that spent Jan.30th- Feb.10th in a 2 bedroom (#517) gardenview condo unit. Condo was well outfitted with what we needed and we appreciated the partial ocean view from the balcony that afforded a grand view of whale activity out in the water. Entire property is clean and well kept- smoking is severely restricted to designated areas-Thank you! Parking and in room safe use is charged daily and well worth the extra fee.Gym privilege is also available for extra $$.The property is well situated- close to Times Grocery, the Fish and the Farmer's Markets should you choose to do a bit of your own meal prep in condo. On site Expedia has a great morning breakfast introductory presentation (NOT CONNECTED WITH TIME SHARE) and we booked several excursions through the rep. The Hana bus tour was a must with our amazing driver/guide Pu. Pilot, Emery gave us an awesome hour long helicopter view of the island. We took advantage of the Molokini crater snorkel excusion with Captain Buzz and crew and enjoyed a Pacific Whale Foundation Sunset Dinner Cruise. The guys were fortunate enough to participate in an ocean fishing trip booked through Garret with Fuzzy and Co. of Die Hard Fishing out of Lahaina Harbour- caught mahi mahi and ahi that they were able to bring back to share with family (froze and brought a bit home as well). We took advantage of our car rental for island exploration on our own (GPS was initially a big help) and discovered some great snorkelling sites with fish and turtles. There were whales splashing, blowing and breaching when on or near water as it's humpback season!! We would like to especially acknowledge all staff at the Shores- they are competent, helpful, cheerful and efficient as they tend to their duties. If Maui is on your bucket list as it was on ours, then THE SHORES IS A GREAT CHOICE!! Mahalo!!

I can't really complain so much, because the price was right! Something like $169/night. We stayed in the hotel part of it, room 237B (though I'm not sure if there is really a difference) and the room was clean, but very small. No lanai - just a window that didn't open, no ice maker anywhere around, no mini-fridge, dated (though they remodeled the bathroom). Overall, not horrible - but not anywhere you want to stay for a "nice" vacation! Pay the extra $ if you're looking for a romantic getaway, stay here if you just want "acceptable."

A lovely condo resort in a peacefull area of Kaanapali. Great views of the Auau Channel and the coastline of Lanai. From our balcony we could see many, many wales. Even though a somewhat older hotel, the facilities and grounds were very well kept. Hotel rooms and Studios are spacious. One or two bedroom suites all have a kitchen with dining/living room. The staff is friendly and very efficient.

The minute I walked into the Lobby I was thoroughly impressed and right away felt on vacation. The decor, the outside landscape, the room was excellent. It was a Hawaii Saver Studio with Kitchen. The Kitchen had a full marble counter, full size fridge and stove, Towels and dishsoap provided, even coffee packets. Ours didn't have any bowls to make salad or fruit salad with and they brought them right away, so service was great.Did the orientation the next morning and learned a lot about the Island and it's activities. They're were coupon books given to us at the hotel for discounts, we ended up on the 9th floor and had a wonderful view of the ocean. I never had any problems getting a chair either at the pool side or on the beach. We only ate dinner twice at the restaurant and it was fine, although I wasn't used to everything being drenched in butter, so watch what you order and if you don't want those extra calories, maybe if you asked they would do it differently. Fitness room was excellent for cardio, some of the other machines I wasn't totally familiar with, but great machines anyway. Store's inside the Hotel were reasonably priced. There's a wonderful store across the street, along with a bar, pizza place and a few other things. Free Hula lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday a show at the waterfront, we missed it and free scuba lessons in the pool everyday. So I surely recommend this place.
