We have been to Maui 20 straight years and have stayed all over the west portion of the island. This was our favorite condo yet. We have two 6 year old kids and it was perfect for them. The unit is renovated, clean and it had everything you would need for a stay in Maui. The location is perfect and quiet yet close enough to the major resorts. We were there during spring break and the pool was never crowded. I highly recommend this unit.
Been to Maui several times, not impressed with this condo. The location is fine if you don't mind being on a big hill. The condo itself has a mold problem, upon arrival I could smell the mold spores throughout the condo. The nice thing to do would of been to give us a refund so we could go somewhere else, but the owner was all about the money, so we ended up airing out the condo ourselves. The main reason we wanted to stay in Kaanapali was for Black Rock beach, which is no longer a beach with sand like it was, too bad because it was a big attraction. With such little beach left on Maui to begin with, they shoud be bringing in sand by the ton. If you are coming to Maui for the views, come, but if you are coming for the beaches there are a lot better options out there.
For a two week stay in Maui, the Kaanapali Royal #J303 was perfect for our family of four. This unit had everything we were looking for: 1) a large well-stocked kitchen to have meals in instead of eating out all of the time, 2) two very comfortable bedrooms both with king beds, 3) higher level unit to get the best views, 4) an outdoor lanai that served as our primary spot for eating meals and playing games, 5) a short walk or trolley ride to Kaanapali beach and Whaler's Village, 6) a washer and dryer so we could do our laundry there and thus bring fewer clothes. What exceeded our expectations was how comfortable the living space is for a large gathering because a couple of times during our stay we had guests join us for dinner and games. Also unexpected was how much we enjoyed using the swimming pool, tennis courts and basketball court. The parking lot is gated and well shaded. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. We appreciated that we had for our use beach gear including snorkeling equipment, beach towels and beach chairs, and binoculars for our many excursions around the island. I don't think we could have chosen a better home away from home for our stay in Maui. Mahalo!
My family and I stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The unit is so much more spacious than we were expecting and has all the amenities we could want to really make it feel like home. We loved the location, and it made our experience that much more enjoyable that we had a nice place to come back to after spending time at the beach or doing other activities. It was a great place to have a toddler, plenty of room for her to run around and more than enough room in our bedroom for the porta cot. When we had questions about anything, Natalie got back to us very quickly and was a pleasure to work with throughout the booking process and during our stay. I highly recommend this property.
We spent 7 days in Maui in August. From booking until departure, it was a breeze. Natalie, the owner was attentive and responsive from the onset as well as during our stay. The condo is beautiful. It is clean, well-equipped and incredibly spacious for 5 people. The kitchen feels like one you have at home and has been upgraded. It has everything you could possibly need from serving platters to a variety of cookware to a great selection of different wine glasses. We enjoyed a few family meals around the dining table. The bedrooms were very comfortable - each with a king bed. In the second bedroom , there is a pull out chair which makes a single bed. It is fine for a child but probably not very comfortable for an adult/teen. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan which helps keep the rooms a perfect temperature during the hot summer months. The condo has laundry which was an added bonus. The veranda provides a perfect spot to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and sunsets. There is ample seating as well as a grill. Outside the front entrance, there is a big deck box filled with everything you need for the beach, which was awesome - boogie boards, snorkeling gear, chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. The owners also provide a cooler to use and beach towels (which you must wash yourself before leaving but so handy because they are much too heavy to travel with). The pool is a short walk and was never very busy. Overall, it is a perfect condo to stay at. It is easy to find, a 5 min walk to Whaler's (a little too far to walk to Black Rock with beach gear but there is parking at the Sheraton) and Fairway Shops is right next door. A couple things that we found... the internet in the condo is not good. It is fine if you want to pick up a few emails but downloading/streaming Netflix does not work well (which is a pity because the TVs are Smart TVs). The owner did bring this to our attention upon our arrival. It truly was not too big of a deal because we were not there to be on our devices. If you need high speed internet, there is a coffee shop in Fairway Shops that works really well. Also, the upstairs shower was very noisy. It was to be repaired before we arrived but due to a parts problem, it was not. Again, not a big deal. We spent each day exploring the island and it felt like home when we returned. We highly recommend this special place and hope to stay there again one day!!
We stayed at this condo for 2 weeks in Oct, the condo is in excellent condition and any requests we had were dealt with in a timely manor.
It has numerous beach items available to use as well as towels.
Being close to Whalers Village is a bonus for easy access to numerous restaurants.
