Over fried greasy bar food. of four adults, none liked their meal. Drinks just OK. Lahaina is not a foodie place but is a tourist shopping place. Better places further up Kaanapali and over to Kihei and even better choices over to Makowao Haiku Paia, Hailiimaile. Eat fresh fish and hawaiian fruits and vegetables not fried bar food you get anywhere. Great history in the Pioneer Inn though

I am so sorry that your server didn't guide you on some better choices from our menu. We buy our fish fresh from the harbor daily so Ceviche is a good choice for a fresh fish appetizer. Other items on a lighter note are fish tacos and our award winning Spinach salad.

Please try us again sometime.

Had to ask for a view table, then asked where restroom was located and was told it was in use and a key would show up on a nail next to the bar. Waited 15 min. Still no key snd waitress could have cared less. Finally went to the restroom and someone had returned the key to the hotel desk clerk. Overpriced Mimosa came and just as breakfast arrived jack hammering started in the room next to the dining room. It not only was ear splitting but the entire room shook. Will never go back!

My husband and I were recently married in Maui and wanted to host a "Welcome Drinks- Meet and Greet" afternoon party for our guests. We settled upon the Pioneer Inn due to it's prominence in Maui and fantastic courtyard venue. We couldn't have been more pleased! We really weren't sure what to expect but this place was FANTASTIC! Mark and his team set-up the bar, tables and strung-up white lanterns to give it a very elegant look (fairly ironic as our theme was 'tacky tiki') They allowed us to decorate the courtyard, no questions asked, and even let us leave some of our decorations there overnight so that we wouldn't have to carry them all home. The service and drinks were terrific. The food, pulled-pork sliders, satay, fruit and veggie platters, was delicious and flew off the trays. Our guests had the BEST time. We used the sound system in the courtyard to play our own music and hold speeches and the staff cleaned up everything for us at the end of the afternoon. We didn't want to leave!
If you're looking for a similar spot, please look no further. Mark would always answer our emails straight away, was incredibly friendly and even spent about 15 minutes on the phone trying to track down hula-hoops for us. I just could not be any happier with our event!

Pioneer Inn Grill and Bar is a perfect stop while staying in or strolling Lahaina. Excellent food from Nachos to Loco Moco! The bar has not seemed to change in decades and has that wonderful historic atmosphere as you have a cold one and watch a Maui sunset with Lanai as a backdrop. Cannot get much better than that! The staff are also fabulous in the attention and kindness. A definite place to stop and enjoy!

Breakfasts are great here. I always order Maui Beef steak and eggs with rice. The ambience is just remarkable sitting at the tables outside. You see the start of the hustle and bustle of the wharf activities. Cruise Ship tenders dropping off passengers, etc. The wee birdies that stop by to eat crumbs and the noisy parrot. Life does not get much better than this, unless you are also staying at the hotel.
