“Breakfast”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

This was the most reasonably priced place we found on our ten days on Maui.We only had breakfast but the prices were normal, what you would expect to pay on the mainland. The food was good quality but how can anyone mess up bacon and eggs. If we had found this place earlier on in our stay we would have been back more often.

“Breakfast and a Cold Beer”
Reviewed November 10, 2011

Breakfast was plentiful and a value. The smell of fresh coffee, arrived before our cups did....wouldn't mind having breakfast there every morning....and of course, the bar, the history and romance of the adjoining Inn, I wouldn't mind having a beer there everyday....

“Great Way to Start the Day”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

The Pioneer Inn does breakfast right! It opens earlier than nearly every other restaurant on front street, it is very inexpensive, and the food is yummy. Best breakfast potatoes i have ever had! For a few laughs, go talk to Alex the parrot. Service can be slow, try to get in the younger girl's section, she is a fantastic server! Close to the harbor it is a great place to people watch and plan out your day!

“Could we get some service?”
Reviewed November 4, 2011

After a long tour to Molokai, we were ready for a cool drink. A band "JD & ..." was playing which drew us in. We asked if we could sit at a table just outside the bar area and they said sure. We sat...and sat...and sat. After three songs, I went to the bar to place our order and was directed back to our table for our server to serve us. An argument ensued between the bartender and the server over whose table was in whose territory. Another song is played without a drink. Plan B. Our friend spoke to the same server about placing an order, he was told that his order would be taken. Another song. Plan C. My husband goes to the bartender and places the order. If only the bar was as good as the band. Locals were served without delay.

“Very good eating experience!”
Reviewed October 26, 2011

I'm glad I didn't read the previous reviews before going to the Pioneer Inn Restaurant for lunch today, for I might not have gone.
I would have missed a delicious meal, in a pleasant setting with good service.
We were seated promptly and both ordered fish and chips ($12.95 each). The order took a little time to arrive since there was a large group next to us, but we enjoyed watching the wharf and street scenes and our waiter made sure that our water glasses were topped up as well as my iced tea.
The fish was lightly battered, fresh and moist - not overcooked. The fries were crisp and the waiter brought malt vinegar without me having to ask for it,
All in all, a pleasant eating experience and I would return.
