“Calm water and high wave in the same beach”

Nice and clean beach, family oriented in Maui. The south east side of the beach is fewer waves and the North West part takes the all high ocean surf. Swim in the calm water and fun at the huge waves. Be prepared for rough current and if you do not swim well do not try the waves.

We had wind and higher than normal surf so we didn't enjoy it as much as we could have. But that isn't the beach's fault. It is a beautiful beach with golden sand.

Great snorkeling but not the easiest we did. A little tough for 1st timers who are weary of getting pushed into the reef with the surf. Great sea life, though! Small beach area so get there early - it's worth it!

Waves are difficult, beach very steep. If you aren't an excellent swimmer find a calmer beach! Tried walking across and didn't realize there was an actual path to get to other side.

Napili Beach was by far the best beach snorkeling I've done in Maui. The waters are crystal clear, and there are ocean critters swimming everywhere, I had my face in the water for the better part of two hours straight just watching the world beneath the waves. All sorts of colorful fish, and if you're patient, even a turtle or two will drift by!

Parking can be tricky, your best bet is to come early (in summer it's crowded by 9ish) and find a spot in one of the open dirt lots. Also, because you'll get caught up in the action and lose track of time, wear lots of sunscreen!
