Description: Welcome to Roy's Kaanapali! Since opening the original "Roy's" in Hawaii Kai in 1988, I have set out to explore "new directions," blending classic European cooking techniques with unique influences of Asia and the Pacific, guided only be the freshest local ingredients and my own sense of freedom. Every night our menu features a selection of "Roy's Classics," which are menu items that have been favorites since the beginning. These are noted with the "Y" symbol. In addition to these Classic dishes, Executive Chef Ryan Ferguson along with Sous Chefs John Balisco, Marc Urquidi, & Jessie Anacleto offer a unique selection of seasonal items & nightly specials. Cooking has been my life... Thank you for making it part of yours. Roy Yamaguchi, Chef/Founder

Each time I have been to a Roy's restaurant I am reminded that this is consistently a solid choice. The Roy's classic menu items with the regional specialties are typically excellent. Chocolate soufflé is a must!

There are a number of good restaurants to choose from in Lahaina/Ka'anapali but people often forget about Roy's. I have been to a number of his restaurants both in HI and the mainland but this was the first visit to this location. Like most other Roy's, the setting isn't waterfront or view-oriented. This one is right off the main highway. Another thing about Roy's restaurants is that style, decor, finishes and fixtures aren't a strong point. The space is usually bland/pedestrian, boring to a point, and this location held true. Overlooking the lack of style, there are a few things on the menu I usually gravitate to: Ahi and Mahi Mahi.
We were able to get in on short notice at a decent time. We then ordered one of each of the Ahi and Mahi, plus a pork chop. Both fish dishes were terrific as experienced at other locations, but the chop disappointed in that it was undercooked. The staff recovered nicely by bringing a brand new perfectly cooked chop out quickly.

Roy's was a lovely restaurant -- friendly, open, a tad noisy, efficient without being fast, and delightful. We had excellent meals -- the Surf and Turf was superb -- and an all-together lovely evening. We would go back in a flash.

We were a bit disappointed with our recent visit, having been to other Roy's establishments. This restaurant is on a golf course, and it has more of a "Caddyshack" feel than that of a fine dining establishment. Clientele dress ranged from jacket & tie to tanktop & flipflops. The place was noisy and there were a LOT of young kids (we saw a youngster ALMOST knock a tray out of a server's hands). Service was good, but not outstanding...they did a better job removing dirty dishes than keeping glasses refilled. The food was good, but portions were small for the price. Definitely order the chocolate souffle. The view looked over the golf course, and the sunset (one of the prime attractions for Maui) was blocked by the beach resorts.

We went for my sons birthday dinner and everything was great! We had a canoe app and every single item on it was fantastic. It came with potstickers, poke, lumpia, ribs, and grilled shrimp. My son ordered the prix fixe menu with 4 courses. This is the best menu ever! Every course was awesome and the chocolate soufflé dessert is the best dessert we have ever had! The miso butterfish was melt in your mouth good and I had the mac nut crusted fish which was moist and perfectly cooked! We go to this restaurant on every special occasion because we know everyone will enjoy their food no matter what they order. Besides awesome food the service is the greatest!
