“Wonderful Tavern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2006

We had a late lunch at Ma'la in Maui. It was almost empty in the early afternoon, and we sat out on the outdoor terrace. The food was excellent and we each had a cocktail that was very nice. The view is beautiful and if you sit along the edge of the deck, you may get some overspray from the ocean waves coming in, but not very heavy just an occasional light mist. The food choice for the bar menu was limited in size but varied in type and we each got something different and shared. The Middle eastern quartet was wonderful with fresh pita and flat breads, and the chicken wings were very tasty but a little spicy for me. My husband loved them. We will defintely stop back there next time we travel to Maui.

“Great food, beautiful sunset.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2006

My husband and I checked out Mala for a romantic dinner on our honeymoon. We were seated at a table on the patio, closest to the water. We enjoyed the very slight occassional spray from the waves breaking near our table as it was quite warm that evening. I had an awesome mangotini - made with fresh mango puree - highly recommended. All tables were provided with a complementary dip made of pulverized edamame with a salsa and fresh warm tortilla chips - unique, delicious and fairly healthy! We shared the whole wok fried opaka paka and it was awesome. After we finished enjoying that, we split a wonderful desert. We had great service, the view is amazing - a definite find.

“Great Little Seaside Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2006

We ate here the first night we arrived in Maui. It is right on the beach, and we were there close to sunset. So, it was beautiful! My husband and I ordered three appetizers to share, but they were such large servings that we couldn't finish it all. The chicken wings were delicious, the shitake and tomato flatbread was divine, but the calamari was a bit too greasy. All in all, a wonderful restaurant, still on Front Street, but not right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.

“I agree...this place was fantastic!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2006

This was our favorite restaurant in Lahaina. The ahi sashimi over mashed potatoes with spicy sauce was fabulous as was our dessert for two, with fresh fruit, chocolate and macadamia brittle gelato was to die for! And the view...the waves were crashing five feet from our table. Wish it were closer to where we live!

“loved this restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2006

Had dinner here during April 2006. We got there early and had oceanfront seats. My kids got ocean spray on their feet. We saw an incredible sunset and saw many turtles in the ocean. The waiter told us it was turtle mating season, so it was quite a show! The ambiance of the oceanfront seats was fantastic. The food was good too, although not as good as Kimo's. (our best meal on the trip) They have a kid's menu too.
