“Wonderful!”

Highly recommend Ma'la! Request a table next to the water. Enjoy a Mai Tai. The clams (med spicy) were amazing!! Everyone loved the ahi burger and kobe burger, too. Friendly service too.

“Perfect family or date location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

Ma'la's was great from arrival - when we were asked if we wanted to wait for outside seating and then consistently kept apprised of wait times - to the service, food, and atmosphere.

Our meal was delicious, the service superb, and the view/atmosphere incomparable. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

“Annual Tradition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012

This is a not to be missed dinner spot (sunset seating especially). Menu constantly being updated, but best selling standards (especially the whole fish wok fried--killer!) area always there. This is traditionally our first-night's dinner upon arrival in Maui, and our kids (now 22, 20, and 18) have been asking to go here ever since our first visit over 6 years ago.

“What Maui Dining Is Really About”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

Consistently great food. Wide range of choices from small bites, to modern bar type food, to high-end pleasures. As a result Mala is right if you can spend alot, a little or somewhere in-between. Amazing what they can do in such a small place. Always hopping but in a mellow, island way. The diners and wait staff are usually as fun to watch as the incredible sunset view. I live in Lahaina and Mala is the favorite along with its higher-end sister restaurant Honu of many locals I know. That says alot considering the wide-range of choices we have in this area.

If you only have a couple of opportunities to dine out on the West Side don't bother with the standard restos aimed at the visitor market, with their bland food. Go here. You won't be disappointed!

“Look for the turtles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

this is not your basic tavern. A bit spendy, but food is well worth it. Kobe beef burgers are pricey but price be damned. The beef nearly melts away in your mouth. Desserts are a plus, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Expect a wait if no reservations and don't forget to look for the sea turtles. r
